I also just watched Street Fighter on Hulu. It was more fun and better than I expected, even if it was incredibly cheesy. The blue vs. red camo uniforms was my favorite part. Oh, and Van Damme telling off the UN (UA in the movie) stooge was a piece of lyric brilliance.
After I finished watching that I watched "The Man from Nowhere" which is a Korean action-adventure. It's extremely gory and rated R for it, but it was a tear jerker too, and I'd never actually watch something that was described as a tear jerker so maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that part, but man did I bawl my eyes out.
I should say that after watching Street Fighter, Van Damme looks distressingly old. If he's had "work" done, all I can say is that men really really should resist the urge to nip and tuck.
What follows is yet another report on the results of my extensively probing research into popular culure.
SUBJECT: The TV show "Modern Family."
FINDINGS: Al Bundy, Charo and the guy who's sort of like Lurch are all very, very funny and very very talented. The blond chick who might have been in "Ally McBeal" or "Ed" or maybe even "Running Wilde" is kind of lousy but I don't hate her. Same thing goes for the gay guy. As for the other gay guy, . . . well yeah, I pretty much can't fucking stand him.
CONCLUSION: It's "Arrested Development" for dumb people, which isn't saying much because "Arrested Development" wasn't exactly playing to the Legitimate Theater crowd, which is not to say it wasn't THE BEST FUCKING TV SHOW EVERZ IN TEH HISTORY OF THE ENTIRE FUCKING UNIVERSES!!!!!!!!
The ginger gay guy was on the original Ellen show, a worker in the bookstore, I think. An engaging actor. They both are in the trailer. They all are. It all looks very funny. Shooting the kid and making a mess of it. Just shoot him. It looks like for comedic porpoises they shoot everybody but the boy who needs to be shot.
And Synova--I have never seen a JCvD movie so I have nothing to which to compare, but when I first saw the truck vid I thought something looked off about his face. He does look like he has had work done.
The truck video has been reversed. The trucks in the vid are going backwards and it is nearly impossible to have two trucks going in reverse with such precision. The reality (or likelihood)is that he started out in the split posture and the trucks went forward to gradually bring him to an upright position.
Not to diminish the accomplishment.....it is still an impressive stunt.
Reversing the video would make it much easier, but also be false advertising. Volvo claims it's real and not faked, whatever that means to their lawyers.

Ouch.
I really want a European Volvo truck.
Truck racing is a big thing in Europe.

He's teaching Jay Cutler how to stretch his vagina out and prevent injuries.

DBQ - your may be correct. The purpose of the ad, though, is to tout Volvo's new computerized precision backing system.
But yeah, it needs an ending as shown.
Modern Family can be funny, but it's too annoying with the interview sections. What does it add?

There are behind-the-scenes and how-we-did-it videos, too, so I doubt they reversed the footage.
Also, JCVD is 53 years young.
