I use the Random Integer Generator (RIG) everyday. I come here everyday. I visit Drudge every day.
For a minute I didn't know where I was.
In fact I had just come here from a story on Drudge: "NEWT: GOP has 'zero' ideas for replacing Obamacare..." I thought Newt had some sensible things to say. You never really know which Newt is going to show up.
Time to unlimber the Agent Orange, 'cause a Republic works best with an ignorant, dependent, stupefied electorate.
Your premise is just wrong. Marijuana does not make you "ignorant, dependent, stupefied." You're too dependent on the government for your information. That's what will make you ignorant.
While I was upstairs, making the house appear habitable, it occurred to my why I thought of the random picks for this post.
I was listening to Noory last night. He had on a guy on claiming that... (my gloss is probably going to mangle what he said, but I can only pay so much attention to stuff I find interesting)... random generators of zeros and ones distributed (probably strategically) throughout the globe generated deviated patterns from the norm, just before events like 9/11. Events that focus most of the worlds attention for a brief period of time.
So, you see, nothing is really random. I thought it was a neat idea when I woke up, not remembering at that particular time, what I had heard the night before.
chick, I understand your objection to cannabis under the "we have enough" mind altering substances that are legal. I disagree but I understand it. Here's what I don't understand since you're a scientist. Under the 1970 Controlled Substance Act, cannabis is listed as a Schedule 1 drug, along w/ drugs like heroin, opiates, etc.
Schedule 2 drugs include cocaine, morphine, oxycodone, Dexedrine, methamphetamine, etc.
Schedule 3 drugs include anabolic steroids, seconal, ketamine, vicodin, etc.

Never said it made people ignorant and dependent. That's the teacher unions and the Welfare State.
It does make you stupefied, however.

I'll put her knowledge of pharmacology against yours, nd, and, if you ever woke up to see her looking down at you, you know you've got a pretty good chance of survival.
I'm going to start the ball rolling by tweeting my congressman right now ;)
You're tweet will have to go to the back of the line in favor of thousands of victims whose civil rights were violated because a clown can't wear an Obama mask to a family entertainment venue where survival is dependent on ticket sales.
Now we can get a bunch of people telling us how great Christie is and how he should be the Republican pick because only he can attract moderates and Democrats.
Well he lost the pot smokers and most of the Democrats are potheads so there you go.
phx, I think edutcher was ok w/ me bringing in The Blonde, he references her often in this context. As I've said a couple times here, discussions of this topic would degenerate into shouting matches @ TOP. I actually asked myself if bringing in The Blonde[my bad using small letters], was righteous. It certainly was. I don't doubt The Blonde is intelligent and believes that cannabis is bad and dangerous. What I don't get is relying on one source for information. I can think of NO topic where I would do that. I know a lot on this subject, from both the legal and scientific aspects. However, I don't consider my knowledge dispositive. I have given the downsides of cannabis in this forum, because there are some. But, there are downsides to ketchup, popcorn, aspirin. The question is of balance. And this subject of cannabis has been imbalanced for too fucking long.
I think it was just last night that I was watching the episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon throws dice every time he needs to make a decision.
It was very funny and I laughed a lot but that's pretty much all that I'm sure of because I was drunk.
I actually asked myself if bringing in The Blonde[my bad using small letters], was righteous. It certainly was. I don't doubt The Blonde is intelligent and believes that cannabis is bad and dangerous.
The Blonde is like a totem hovering over first TOP and now this place.
I will argue with edutcher to Kingdom Come, but as soon as The Blonde weighs in, out of respect I'll close my case.

Okay, dumb newbie question and I know I should know better. Plus I know I could look it up on google and I did once but somehow the formula got removed from my desktop. And it wasn't easy to find it because, well I'm me...
What is the html for linking here to another page - edutcher did @11:55 am.

Is that BASIC?
Looks a bit like C.
Unfettered access to pot looks to be the next big civil rights issue of our time.
Watch it grow.

Can I play Powerball and Megamillions with this thing?

No, the next big push is going to be for government paid sex change operations for confused Kindergarteners.

Evi, Both states are also good for med mal, and there are plenty of ambulance chasers to prove it.

BTW. I had to discard the first two randoms, because they were not random enough.
I got one and one out of the box.
Did anyone ever read "The Dice Man"? It's about someone who lived their lives using a random generator.

Does this list seem scientific to you?
Nothing unseemly about a guy using his kid like that?
A top complaint was the use of children by politicians. What about a parent?
I'm thinking what might have ticked off the Governor there.
Christy looked like he was about to loose it.
phx, Being an avid craps player I could see my life being throwing dice till I die. Be a helluva way to go!

I would pushed that down the road, in favor of Unfettered access to mask of the President of the United States by rodeo clowns, first.

ndspinelli you did cross a line when you brought The Blonde into this without a good cause. Next time, think man, think! ; )

Trooper, You remind me of the character played by Peter Boyle in the 1970's flick, Joe.
Actually I am much more like the character Peter Boyle played in Young Frankenstein.
He had a very large personality.
PS Not to change the subject, if there is one, but is Amnesty not as big an issue as it once was or is it just summer?

Absentee spouses are a weird rhetorical device.
@Spinelli, I agree, the schedule 1 classification makes no sense. Maybe it did at the time and should be revised.
I did realize that Ed, but was too lazy to change it :)
Absentee spouses are a weird rhetorical device.
Weird and a little creative to my mind.
Thank goodness, phx, you're a paragon of unquestionable reality.

phx,
If it's a long URL, just click on the page window (the http://www.blogger.com/ thing) and copy the whole thing.
In Windows, you can use Ctrl-Insert or Ctrl-C (if it has a menu bar, use Edit|Copy)
Much obliged edutcher.
Thank you, yashu. Good to see you.
