Google Earth makes assessing a place for surveillance much easier and economical. Even before I go to a new residence assigned to me for surveillance, I can check it out from different angles. I only work a few cases now. When Google Earth first came out, there were many places not Googled. Cases I had in a city were usually online, but suburban and rural were not. It seems they now have the US pretty well covered and they're working on the world. I have seen their cars in San Diego and Dallas.
Apparently the Google Maps version is for people in Britain. It did work for me first time, but now doesn't do any thing when I put the google map man on the box. But it does in Google Earth. Click on the blue box or put the little man icon on the blue box, however, it opens to an interactive fancified interior of the tardis, and not just a photo set of tardis interiors, although those are there too.
I agree ndspinelli, I use it all the time for that too. It really does help.

Oh great, the Tardis is empty, which means that the world is facing imminent demise yet again. Let's hope the Dr. doesn't mess it up this time.
Paddy -- how many times has the Doctor messed it up? I just saw him save some millions millions of years in the future...
