Tea Party, Lindsey

Wants $25,000 [edited] By Friday. To make Lindsey Graham go away.

They start out two paragraphs with "You see," and I'm all, "quit copying my style dadgumit." You are supposed to put your hand on your hip akimbo when you say that,  and the other hand offer an invisible platter.

You see, they do have it out for him big time. Here's what they' say stripped of the bold and yellow highlighting:

...We are embarking on a very comprehensive candidate interviewing and election analysis effort involving this seat.
We need to be sure we have a good, solid, reliable conservative who can beat Lindsey Graham in the primary. And we need to be sure we can recruit enough votes in that election to overcome a wave of Obama Democrats who will be turning out to save Lindsey in the GOP primary.
We are, in effect, doing what a real political party is supposed to do. Recruiting a candidate who will help advance our conservative policy goals and building a serious campaign plan to get him or her elected!
And because South Carolina is an "open primary" state, that means left-wing Democrats can vote in the Republican primary as well!
I fully expect Barack Obama will turn out tens of thousands of liberal voters to help try to save Lindsey Graham in the primary. In return, I'm sure Lindsey will be happy to keep voting for Mr. Obama's left-wing agenda!
It's a sick political game.
Lindsey has been one of the nastiest and most vocal opponents of the Tea Party and conservatives in general. He believes in big government, backroom deals, and lifetime tenure in public office.
He believes the Senate seat in South Carolina is HIS, and that he shouldn't ever have to listen to his constituents.
This man needs to go. He and all the other big government "Republicans" are ruining this country.

Pick a target. Freeze it.

Treat him like Teddy Kennedy.

South Carolinians have never liked Massholes.

Is there a link in that? In particular it would be nice to know the identity of the speaker.

If only we could find a way to throw out all the .. He believes the Senate seat in _____________ is HIS/HERS, and that he/she shouldn't ever have to listen to his/her constituents.

I did see a bumper sticker recently that stated:
"2014 no incumbents!"

I cannot believe that South Carolina does not have some decent Republicans to run against Lindsay Graham in the primary.

Open primaries are evil.

WTF people! Do you WANT to be utterly irrelevant? I swear sometimes that the majority has the collective intelligence of a gnat.

We were supposed to have representative government via citizens taking turns, knowing when to bow out. Now, we get pols-for-life. They enter DC, stay 30 years and leave rich... Then become lobbyists for the biggest special interest of them all: THE Government.

Anthony Weiner is a dick too.

Governor Nikki Haley (R-SC) would be an excellent candidate.

Politics ain't beanbag.

I wonder what would be the process for changing a state from an open to closed primary system. If it wasn't considered beneficial in some ways, wouldn't they change the state constitution?

I think it was one of those things that sounded like a good idea at the time and that only now the (perfectly predictable) practice of fouling opposition party primaries is becoming obvious.

It probably has something to do with the fact that the Parties allow the state to operate and supervise the primaries. And maybe someone, at some point, thought that was a good idea in order to avoid the smokey back-room deals.

But bottom line on that... if *any* party wants to have a meeting of the board and smoke a few cigars and present "their" candidate... isn't that their right? Nothing stops anyone else from also presenting a candidate for that office. If the rank and file don't like the committee pick they can figure out some other way of choosing someone else.

It happens all the time... the sore loser simply announces he or she is now an "Independent" and runs anyway.

Letting Democrats vote in your Primary is insane. One reason you got McCain in 2008 was open primaries.
