It breaks my heart. I was in love with Ellie Mae, from a distance, for she is way out of my league. She always did have the best critters, and her critters loved her as much as I did. I suppose in a way I was one of her critters.
It seems to me this television show had absolutely perfect casting all around.
Nola.com for more on her story.
Goodbye, Donna Douglas, I will always love you.

Beautiful inside and out.
The show came along at a time when whites were still assimilating into America. I know... that idea seems strange...
Choked my chicken watching her. Or, was it granny?
A farmer I once knew loved Ellie Mae so much that he drove to a city she was going to be in to give her his pet raccoon. I don't remember how that turned out.
I loved Ellie Mae too. She was a doll.

Loved her in the part. Sexy and funny. She was 80 something. Wow, we're getting old.
Spinelli is the Titus of Lem's.
R.I.P. Donna Douglas
Ellie Mae was the best. Everyone on that show was awesome, actually.
And it's one of those shows that is every bit as funny and excellent now as when it was new. Not all old shows stand the test of time.
Just keepin' it real. This place is more boring than C-Span lately. Hasn't anyone noticed??
I do watch C-Span by the way. But, it can be boring. I never choked my chicken watching it, either.
Se was a true "country girl' growing up in Pride, La., and later Zachary, La. outside of Baton Rouge. She was also Miss New Orleans and Miss Louisiana in 1957..
My wife the RN also took care of "Granny" at Santa Monica Hosp (or was it St Johns?) when she was dying of a brain tumor in 1973..
I was the weird adolescent boy who had a crush on Miss Hathaway.
She seemed so.....unobtainable.
Just keeping it real? OK. Tell us more about your masturbating habits.
Its fascinating.
Sexual Titus.
Dude!
Look what you did!
If you keep talking about jerk offs we might get an appearance by Leisure Suit Larry!
That's no way to start the new year!
