Two important geopolitical developments

Brought to us by Trump.

I see no other person capable of bringing these two things about, both reported on the Conservative Treehouse.

1) An official end to the Korean War planned for Next week.

Who could have seen this coming?
North and South Korea are in talks to announce a permanent end to the officially declared military conflict between the two countries, daily newspaper Munhwa Ilbo reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed South Korean official.
Ahead of a summit next week between North Korean premier Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in, lawmakers from the neighboring states were thought to be negotiating the details of a joint statement that could outline an end to the confrontation.
2)  Mexico offers emergency deal to close NAFTA tariff loophole.

I left out the part about agreeing to pay for the wall because that is broadly misunderstood. Trump supporters understood Trump to mean they'll pay for it one way or another, while Trump detractors ridicule the idea of Mexico writing a check to pay for the wall.

This new understanding also involves Canada.
All nuanced trade-sector issues put aside, the larger issue was always how third-party nations will seek to gain access to the U.S. market through Canada and Mexico. [It is the NAFTA exploitation loophole which has severely damaged the U.S. manufacturing base.] That’s why this trade admission by Canada and Mexico is stunning.
It's been quite a day at the site. Turn away for 15 minutes and another impressive post goes up. Sundance also covered

* Beijing attempts to coerce Europe in desperate bid to create a trade firewall.

* Press briefing on U.S. Japan summit at Mar-a-Lago.

*  Barbara Bush.

* Wilbur Ross discussing space traffic management.

* Kudlow asserting TPP talk was a thought not a policy.

* More on Trump and P.M. Abe discussion on N. Korea and direct talks started.

* More on P.M. Abe and President Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

* Robert Mueller office warning of stories about their investigation being inaccurate.

Read all of it. All of the comments, and you'll be going, whoah, why don't I hear about this reported sensibly on national and local new?

Oh, that's right, I don't watch those things anymore.

Today I gave a local news guy three seconds and heard "Stormy Daniels drawing" *click*. Then later I gave another local news reporter two seconds and heard "Hannity's lawyer" *click*.  Got no time for them anymore. None.

My prejudice is really bad. It even affects linked videos that involve news readers describing a story. I go, skip, skip, skip, skip, skip, until I get to their footage. I don't want to hear one single word from their mouths.

Like Reagan winning the Cold war, the media would rather die than admit it.

As for NAFTA, looks like the gang in the DF has been watching the China scene.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Awesome news about the Koreas, hope it goes through. My dad's brother fought in the Korean action.
