Man rents car, sold it on a e-commerce site, then steals it back the same night

Hindustan Times:  Mintoo Kumar, 28, a BCA graduate, took a car on rent, sold it on a e-commerce site posing as the car owner and then stole it the same night from its new owner.

Last week, police received information at the Dwarka Sector 23 station about a car theft. On checking the car’s record, the police were perplexed because the details given by the owner belonged to a different Mahindra XUV car of the same colour belonging to a Delhi resident.

Explaining the sequence of events, an officer said,“The owner was not lying. He had bought the car through the site.It was stolen the same night. Initially we thought he was sold a stolen vehicle but later we suspected the seller may have stolen the same car from the new owner. We registered a case and began probe ,” said an officer.

Police sources said that during investigation, an officer received a tip-off about the suspect who was in Dwarka to sell off the vehicle again. Mintoo was nabbed by a team of officers.

Mintoo’s modus operandi surprised even the most experienced of police officers. Mintoo told the police that he had stolen the car around seven hours after selling it. He said he ran a massage parlour cum spa in Faridabad was running into losses.

11-year-old Indian-origin girl achieves top possible score of 162 IQ

IndiaTimes: Mumbai-born Kashmea Wahi achieved 162 out of 162, which put her in the top one per cent of the country's brightest. The score also puts her in the league of scientists Albert Einstein and Steven Hawking as both are thought to have an IQ of 160.

"It's overwhelming to be compared with the likes of Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein he comparison is implausible and I believe it would take loads of achievements for anyone like myself to be able to get into the league of such legends. Anyways, I am buzzing with excitement," Kashmea said.

"We are ecstatic at Kashmea's Mensa achievement. Although we always believed she had the intellectual prowess, the acknowledgement is reassuring that she does possess the ability , the energy which if well channelised, can lead to something wonderful," her parents said.

"Casually dressed in jeans and a leather jacket, he accepted, the Times of India reported. After the swap, the wedding ceremony continued as planned until Mr Kishore returned from hospital." (find out what happened at the link)

New to India: youths recruited to ISIS via internet

"KALYAN, India...Four young men from this city on the outskirts of Mumbai — well-educated children of a rising middle class — disappeared from their homes with no warning in late May, leaving behind a note about fighting to defend Islam. Investigators traced them to Mosul and have said they were recruited over the Internet by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria — a process that, while relatively well-known in the West, has not been documented in India.

The case, though still viewed as an aberration, has opened up the unsettling possibility that Indian Muslims could be vulnerable for recruitment into sectarian conflicts in the Middle East via the Internet. Officials in the Indian-controlled portion of Kashmir, in the north, have taken notice of youths displaying ISIS banners and insignia in recent days, and on Sunday, the authorities in the southern state of Tamil Nadu detained a young man for questioning over a social media posting showing a large group of Indian Muslims in ISIS T-shirts.

In a country that is home to the world’s second-largest Muslim population, and that has long struggled with low-level domestic terrorism, the possibility of a returning flow of well-trained jihadis is a chilling prospect.
