The Best Movie Ever (For 20 Minutes)

I have to agree with the nebbishy nerd who made this video. "Streets of Fire" is one of my all-time favorite films. It is a retelling of the classic John Wayne movie "The Searchers" with bikers replacing the Apache's. The music was composed by the great Jim Steinman who wrote every one of Meat Loaf's hits. In fact, if you love Meat Loaf's music then you love Jim Steinman. Directed by the best Western director since John Ford in the amazingly talented Walter Hill, this movie is a classic. The first twenty minutes and the last ten are amongst the best movies I have ever seen. Nobody could keep that up for an entire film. Nobody does. Yeah, it's pulp. But it is sublime pulp.

Do yourself a favor and rewatch it. You won't be dissapointed.

Been there....done that

I have some experience with the court system in New York City so I am watching President Trumps trial with bemused interest. I have been called as a juror several times and, in my experience, President Trump does not stand a chance. He will be convicted by the "Bronx Jury" and it will be up to the partisan judge to impose a sentence.

You see in the New York City Court system it is rigged for extreme liberal rulings. The last time I was called when I was questioned at the voi dire I was flabbergasted by the partisan liberal cant on display. I had a black woman lesbian judge as a matter of course. A vast majority of the justices in New York City appointed in the past twenty years are of this ilk. When questioned I said, "I think this pointless as no lawyer is going to allow a conservative older white man on a jury so you are just wasting the court's time." She was not amused and threatened me. So I had to sit silently and give one word answers.

I think Trump will be convicted in this fraudulent case. I don't think even this judge will sentence him to incarceration, but I would bet a million dollars that he will put him on probation under house arrest wearing one of those things on his leg. Just to humiliate him. They will give him the most liberal possible probation officer who will have to approve any travel. It is conceivable that he could prohibit President Trump from campaigning, going to the convention or even attending any debates. I don't know if the appeal process can mitigate this. I don't think so. He might be out on bail but it is most likely that these humiliating conditions will be forced on him to the applause of the Democrats and the mainstream media.

I have hesitated to comment lately because the news is just so disheartening. I want to thank MamaM and ed for their hard work in keeping this place a going concern. Thanks.

Hanging out at the corner of Goebbels and Beria

If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.

    Joseph Goebbels

Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.

    Lavrentiy Beria

We've been inundated with people who believe both aphorisms the last couple of years and, in the end, they apply to the accusers more than to the accused. The tendency of the Left to apply fascist or Nazi to anyone who dares disagree with them or, even better, who wants to undo all their wonderful accomplishments is becoming a textbook example of the principle that what we hate in ourselves is what we criticize in others.

Consider the latest risible examples: Surrounding the lying dogfaced pony soldier with his own begleitkommando to hide from view his inability to walk; Speculation concerning how the phalanx of Dr Morells keeping Brandon going will keep him upright, coherent (well, sort of), on the mark, and off the phony stories when he faces Trump, even if it is on Commie News Net. Even better, if Trump can be brought up on charges of hush money and adultery and has no immunity, what does that do for all the riders on the Lolita Express? After that, we get to all the abuses aimed at the J6ers and the myriad violations of the Constitution, justified much like the aftermath of the Reichstag Fire.

Then there's the ouster of the Slob from the outfit he created to rule the world. Well-connected and even better financed, whose guiding principle was replace democratic models worldwide with a model of elite stakeholders who make decisions on behalf of the people. He obviously thought the time had come, but the world has been telling him his side lost back in '45. Now there's just a couple more superannuated Nazis and a bunch of over-the-hill Radicals looking down the barrel of real charges. Just as Zippy acquainted many with the work of Saul Alinsky, so has the current crowd made many of us (who haven't been paying attention the last 52 years or so) aware of exactly what all those tolerant, compassionate Liberals really believed.

Is it over? Doubtful, but, as Winnie Churchill noted, "It wasn't the end, nor even the beginning of tghe end, but it was the end of the beginning". We still have to get past November, but the mood of the country is far different from the days college kids started yelling, "Let's go, Brandon". Now Trump rallies in Jersey, MI, NV, NH, VA, and, for crying out loud, Da Bronx.

There's something happening hereBut what it is ain't exactly clearThere's a man with a gun over thereTelling me I got to beware

Paranoia strikes deepInto your life it will creepIt starts when you're always afraidStep out of line, the man come and he takes you a-way

It's time we stopHey, what's that sound?Everybody look, what's going down

Call me a cockeyed Romantic, but I think life's about to get interesting.
