Shamima Begum who fled UK to join Isis (and now wants to come back) has given birth, says family

"Shamima Begum, 19, who left the UK with two school friends in 2015, spoke to the Times earlier this week from the al-Hawl refugee camp in north-eastern Syria."

Tasnime Akunjee (the family lawyer) said the family had been told Begum gave birth on Saturday to a boy and that mother and son were doing well.

He said the news of the birth had changed the dynamics of the situation and added pressure on the government to let Begum, and now her child, back.

Her family have called on the British government to allow her to return to the UK so her child can be cared for in “peace and security”. But the home secretary, Sajid Javid, said he would not hesitate to block her return.

“My message is clear: if you have supported terrorist organisations abroad I will not hesitate to prevent your return,” he said. “If you do manage to return you should be ready to be questioned, investigated and potentially prosecuted.”

Writing in the Sunday Times, Javid said: “As a father I feel compassion for anyone born or brought into a conflict zone. But in considering what actions need to be taken now, I have to think about the safety and security of children living in our country.”

In a statement issued on Friday, the family said her apparent lack of regret for joining Isis should be seen as the “words of a girl who was groomed at the age of 15”.
What do you think? Should the UK let her back in, now that she has a child?

Mosul battle plan change will likely result in prolonged siege

"...ran was not the only country pressing for the escape to be closed west of Mosul. Russia, another powerful Assad ally, also wanted to block any possible movement of militants into Syria, said Hashemi. The Russian defence ministry did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

One of Assad's biggest enemies, France, was also concerned that hundreds of fighters linked to attacks in Paris and Brussels might escape. The French have contributed ground and air support to the Mosul campaign.

A week after the campaign was launched, French President Francois Hollande said any flow of people out of Mosul would include "terrorists who will try to go further, to Raqqa in particular".

Still, the battle plan did not foresee closing the road to the west of Mosul until Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi agreed in late October to despatch the Popular Mobilisation militias.

"The government agreed to Iran's request, thinking that it would take a long time for the Hashid to get to the road to Syria, and during that time the escape route would be open and the battle would still proceed as planned," Hashemi said.
The Hashid move to cut the western corridor was announced on Oct. 28, 11 days after the start of the wider Mosul campaign. Fighters made swift progress, sweeping up from a base south of Mosul to seal off the western route out of the city.
Abadi "was surprised to see them reaching the road in just a few days," Hashemi said. "The battle has taken a different shape since then - no food, no fuel is reaching Mosul and Daesh (Islamic State) fighters are bent on fighting to the end.""

"German intelligence warns of IS ‘hit squads’ among refugees"

"Official says country has to accept it is home to terror ‘sleeper cells.’"
German intelligence services have evidence that “hit squads” from the Islamic State terror group have infiltrated the country disguised as refugees, the deputy head of Bavaria’s spy agency told the BBC Thursday.

“We have to accept that we have hit squads and sleeper cells in Germany,” Manfred Hauser, the vice president of the Bavaria region’s intelligence gathering agency, BayLfV, told the Today program.

“We have substantial reports that among the refugees there are hit squads. There are hundreds of these reports, some from refugees themselves. We are still following up on these, and we haven’t investigated all of them fully,” said Hauser.
In other words, the risk incurred by the current policy is worth it. Just because we don't understand it, doesn't mean it's not a sound policy. We are just telling everybody now, so that as the attacks continue and/or intensify, fingers are not pointed in our direction, accusing us of missing it or whatever.

ISIS fighters try to flee battlefield dressed as women

Daily Mail:  This is the moment a group of ISIS fighters were caught red-handed trying to escape from a fierce battle - dressed as women.

The terrorists, all wearing full black veils, were captured as they attempted to run from the besieged town of Manbij in northern Syria.

But members of the Syrian Democratic Forces, which is trying to liberate the town from ISIS, saw through the disguise and arrested them.

ISIS train axe attacker may have lied to obtain refugee status

The terror group released a video yesterday featuring the attacker, who is claimed to be 17, who was shot dead by police after the attack, which left four people critically injured near the city of Wurzburg.

ISIS used the name 'Mohammed Riyadh' to describe him, however, sources close to the investigation in Germany said that he registered in the country as Riaz Khan Ahmadzai.

"Why Did the White House just Humiliate Loretta Lynch?"

NY Post:  Idiotic: That’s the only word for the Obama administration’s move to scrub references to Islam or ISIS from the transcripts of Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen’s calls.
Under an avalanche of ridicule, the Justice Department on Monday relented and released the full transcripts. But what was the point? Everyone already knew that he’d pledged allegiance to ISIS and its “caliph.”
Fine: President Obama wants to make this about gun control, not terrorism — but ham-handed editing only calls attention to what you’re deleting, and to Obama’s peevish rules against uttering terms like “radical Islam.” Just look at the redactions:
Mateen: “I pledge of allegiance to [omitted]. “I pledge allegiance to [omitted] may God protect him [in Arabic], on behalf of [omitted].”
All the omissions did was make Team Obama look determined to keep its head in the sand about the nature of the enemy. Even the “explanations” sounded dumb. Here’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch on ABC’s “This Week”: “What we’re not going to do is further proclaim this man’s pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups, and further his propaganda.”
Further his propaganda? Seriously? The answer to Islamist jihad is to black out the words?
Lynch never did anything this absurd in all her years as US attorney here in New York, so you know the order came down from above.
It’s also idiocy déjà vu: Four years ago, Team Obama made then-UN Ambassador Susan Rice tour all the Sunday shows to blame the deadly Benghazi attack on an internet video, rather than on the terrorist plot they all knew it was. She looked a fool once the administration finally admitted the truth, just as Loretta Lynch does now.
It makes you wonder: Who at the White House feels compelled to send women of color out to humiliate themselves on national TV?

ISIS hackers release hit list of 3,600

"Police have been making attempts to contact the individuals to inform them of the threat by Caliphate Cyber Army, which includes names, home and email addresses."
The list reportedly targets government employees within the state department and security, but the details of regular people have also been leaked.
Intelligence experts believe the 3,600 names may have been chosen at random because they are several years old, according to ABC7 News.
Elsewhere, the Russians continue to harass our military planes... "Defense official: Russians buzzed a U.S. plane in Baltic Sea"
The aircraft flew along the U.S. aircraft and then did a 'barrel roll' over the top of the aircraft, closing within 100 feet of the RC-135 plane, the official said, who was not authorized to speak publicly on the incident.
The United States has expressed concerns of these dangerous maneuvers because they can lead to mishaps or lead to heightened escalations between the two forces.

B-52's land in Qatar to lead the fight against Islamic Intolerance....go to the Love Shack you towelheads!

"B-52s arrive in Qatar to join bombing campaign against ISIS"

"U.S. Air Force B-52 bombers arrived at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, on Saturday joining Operation Inherent Resolve, the American-led campaign against the Islamic State group.
The deployment marks the first time the Air Force will use the Cold War-era warplanes — from Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana — in the counter-ISIS fight in Iraq and Syria. The service did not disclose the exact number of bombers it deployed.
"The B-52 will provide the coalition continued precision and deliver desired airpower effects,” Lt. Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., commander of U.S. Air Forces Central Command and Combined Forces Air Component, said in a release.
“As a multi-role platform, the B-52 offers diverse capabilities including delivery of precision weapons and the flexibility and endurance needed to support the combatant commander's priorities and strengthen the coalition team."
In March, Air Force officials hinted that the aircraft, affectionately known as the "Big Ugly Fat Fellow," would replace the B-1 Lancers, which returned in January.
"There have been recent infrastructure improvements that now allow the necessary support to deploy the B-52 in theater," Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James said at an Air Force briefing on March 7.
Despite being the Air Force inventory for more than 50 years, BUFFs can drop precision-guided weapons. Its payload capacity at 70,000 pounds can include gravity bombs, cluster bombs, precision guided (cruise) missiles and joint direct attack munitions.
The service is focusing on a modernization effort to make sure the B-52s stay flying for years to come, potentially as late as 2040, officials have said...."

Intel Analysts claim forced out for not toeing the Obama line on ISIS.

Two senior intelligence analysts at U.S. Central Command say the military has forced them out of their jobs because of their skeptical reporting on U.S.-backed rebel groups in Syria, three sources with knowledge of their claim told The Daily Beast. It’s the first known instance of possible reprisals against CENTCOM personnel after analysts accused their bosses of manipulating intelligence reports about the U.S.-led campaign against ISIS in order to paint a rosier picture of progress in the war.
One of the analysts alleging reprisals is the top analyst in charge of Syria issues at CENTCOM. He and a colleague doubted rebels’ capabilities and their commitment to U.S. objectives in the region. The analysts have been effectively sidelined from their positions and will no longer be working at CENTCOM, according to two individuals familiar with the dispute, and who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The analysts’ skeptical views put them at odds with military brass, who last year had predicted that a so-called moderate opposition would make up a 15,000-man ground force to take on ISIS in its self-declared caliphate. An initial $500 million program to train and arm those fighters failed spectacularly. And until the very end, Pentagon leaders claimed the operation was more or less on track. Lawmakers called the plan a “joke” when Gen. Lloyd Austin, the CENTCOM commander, finally testified last September that there were just “four or five” American-trained fighters in Syria. (read more)

"Eight-Year-Old Yazidi Girl Sets Herself on Fire to Prevent Islamic State Rape"

Breitbart:  German doctor Jan Ilhan Kizilhan, treating Yazidi victims of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS), tells the Agence France-Presse he has treated an 8-year-old girl who set herself on fire to stop jihadists from raping her.
“IS sold her eight times during the 10 months she was held hostage, and raped her hundreds of times,” he said. “This is one of the cases I always have in my mind.”  The fire burned 80 percent of her body, and Kizilhan said the girl lost her nose and ears.
You have to be very desperate to have the wherewithal, at that age, to figure out how to make it stop, and go thru with it.

Pretend to be Christians or Grooming instructions are not just for NFL cheerleaders anymore*

"ISIS urges UK jihadis to cut beards, shun mosques & wear crosses"
The booklet, called Safety and Security Guidelines for Lone Wolf Mujahideen, offers a chilling insight into the levels of preparation expected of those wishing to cause carnage in Europe.
It urges home-grown terrorists to carry out attacks as they are less likely to be noticed.
It also explains how nightclubs, full of loud music and drunk people, are the perfect place to discuss terror plans without being recorded or snooped on.
The main thrust of the instruction booklet is the necessity to blend in with the western way of life and to avoid ‘looking like a Muslim’ so as to stay below the radar of the security services.
The introduction says: “No doubt that today, at the era of the lone wolves, brothers in the West need to know some important things about safety in order to ensure success in their operations.
“We thought a lot of non-Arabic speaking brothers would find it interesting and may apply it in their blessed operations.”
“As you know, Christians - or even atheist Westerners with Christian background - wear crosses on their necklaces.
“But don’t wear a cross necklace if you have a Muslim name on your passport, as that may look strange.
It says: “Your beard should be shaved off at least two weeks before your travel so the skin under your beard can be exposed to the sun.
"If you don’t do that the fact that you removed your beard would be too easy to notice.
“If you can get a haircut in a professional hairdresser, try to do so.”
The campaign by successive U.S. administrations since 9/11/2001, to appear gregarious and non judgmental, downright near outlawing profiling, seems to be completely lost on the jihadis.

Is this another messaging failure?

"ISIS fighter executes his own MOTHER"

DailyMail: Activists inside Syria have revealed that an ISIS fighter has executed his own mother in Raqqa after he reported her for trying to persuade him to leave the jihadi group.
The sickening act was witnessed by a large crowd in front of the postal building inside the ISIS stronghold in Syria, according to activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently.
The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights have revealed that Ms al-Qasem was also accused of trying to persuade her son to abandon ISIS and flee Syria with her.
Fearing for his own safety within the brutal organisation, it appears Ali reported his mother, leading to her arrest. It is unclear why Ali was given the task of executing his own mother. However it is possible he may requested to carry out the harrowing act or more likely he was ordered to do it as a test of loyalty.
There appears no shortage of gumption, chutzpah to commit atrocity by these people. That it is detrimental to civilized peoples everywhere, if allowed to stand, goes without saying.

Police: Gunman said he shot Philadelphia cop in Islam's name

AP: A man using a gun stolen from police said he was acting in the name of Islam when he ambushed an officer sitting in his marked cruiser at an intersection, firing shots at point-blank range, authorities said Friday. Both the officer and suspect were injured during the barrage of gunfire.

Police Commissioner Richard Ross said Archer told police he believed the department defends laws that are contrary to Islam.

"It stands to reason there is more unknown than known," Ross said.

Despite being seriously wounded, Officer Jesse Hartnett got out of his car and chased the suspect before police apprehended him.

The gunman fired at least 13 shots toward Hartnett and eventually got up next to the car and reached through the driver's-side window.

The officer returned fire, hitting his attacker at least three times. Hartnett, 33, was in stable condition.

"I don't know how this officer survived," Ross said.

Is Hillary Pulling a Trump on Trump?

Campaign chairman: Hillary stands by claim ISIS is recruiting off of Trump. After claim was denounced as false.
Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign chairman, John Podesta, says the Democratic front-runner is sticking by her claim that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is using Donald Trump in recruitment videos.
Host Chuck Todd pushed back, saying the NBC report Podesta cited only said Trump “might” be used by terrorists in recruitment videos.
“If you go back and look at social media, if you look at what is going on they are definitely pointing to Mr. Trump,” Podesta rebutted.
Todd asked Podesta if Clinton stood by the statement.
“She does,” he said.
Clinton said at Saturday’s Democratic primary debate that ISIS is “going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists.”
Left leaning Politifact found "No evidence for Hillary Clinton's claim that ISIS is using videos of Donald Trump as recruiting tool"

"Hackers trace ISIS Twitter accounts back to internet addresses linked to Department of Work and Pensions."

Mirror: Hackers have claimed that a number of Islamic State supporters' social media accounts are being run from internet addresses linked to the Department of Work and Pensions.

A group of four young computer experts who call themselves VandaSec have unearthed evidence indicating that at least three ISIS-supporting accounts can be traced back to the DWP's London offices.

"Don't you think that's strange?" one of the hackers asked Mirror Online. "We traced these accounts back to London, the home of the British intelligence services." ...when Mirror Online traced the IP addresses obtained by VandaSec, we found they actually pointed to a series of unpublicised transactions between Britain and Saudi Arabia.

The Cabinet Office has now admitted to selling the IP addresses on to Saudi Telecom and the Saudi-based Mobile Telecommunications Company earlier this year as part of a wider drive to get rid of a large number of the DWP's IP addresses.

It said the British government can have no control over how these addresses are used after the sale.

ISIS updated

This is a lengthy page hosted on scribd published by Arthur Barie, a hodgepodge of collected updated information on ISIS, maps, photographs mostly, documents, statements, various writings, scribblings, who they are, where they come from, what they do, their propaganda, statements of intent, how they recruit, what people look like, etc. It all makes clear they are waging war on us on several fronts at once and how they go about their nefarious activities, and what their vulnerabilities appear to be. It first asks the question, "why are they all sitting?" So calmly to be executed, but it does not answer.

(The answer elsewhere, Ayaan Hersi, is they take so long to set up the photograph, casually comfortably getting things just so, lined up just right, friendly handling, being so stagey about it that by the time it comes down to giving the order the prisoners don't even believe it's going to actually happen.)

I did it again, went for a "today's must read" prompt and this time it pays off. The page is a good effort. It is a good collection.

I must say, though, my favorite part was clicking on the photograph of a fighter taking aim at a target. The target is a silhouette of a running man with another photo over the face. The caption reads, "look at the face on the target." It's too small to see. Enlarging does not clarify. Click on the photo to see if it enlarges, and still cannot quite make it out but it must be Obama. Now, this is a dreadful photograph that nobody would care to own. But it's hosted on Photobucket and they must display their usual marketing offering so the photo is displayed repeated printed on calendars, canvas prints and holiday greeting cards. It's not the sort of thing anyone would want on a coffee cup or have worked up onto a puzzle. American style humor in unexpected places. The very thing ISIS hopes to destroy.

Russian sub successfully targets ISIS munitions and oil infrastructure

"WASHINGTON — Russian media reports that a Russian diesel-electric submarine operating submerged in the Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday launched Kalibr cruise missiles at targets in Syria.

Agence France-Presse, citing Russian news agencies, reported that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday the military had launched strikes in Syria for the first time from a submarine stationed in the Mediterranean.

"We used Kalibr cruise missiles from the Rostov-on-Don submarine from the Mediterranean Sea," Shoigu told President Vladimir Putin, Russian news agencies reported.

The missiles "targeted two major terrorist positions in the territory of Raqqa," Russia Today quoted Shoigu as telling Putin. "We can say with absolute confidence that significant damage has been inflicted upon ammunition warehouses and a mine production plant, as well as the oil infrastructure.""
