"The 14th Amendment, you'll all remember, came after the Civil War, remember what the Civil War was about? That was freeing the slaves. It wasn't about allowing illegal aliens to run across the border, drop a baby and say, "Ha ha, you missed me, I'm a citizen now."
Do you think the framers of the 14th Amendment, that's what they were hoping to do? She said both she and Chris Christie, I saw, saying on TV yesterday, "Well, of course you'd need a Constitutional amendment to do that, that's crazy.""

Sinead O'Conner posts suicide note after revelations on the Internet!
Breibart News.com November 30, 2015 by Daniel Nussbaum
Sinead O’Connor has been found “safe and sound” in Dublin after posting an ominous suicide note-type message to Facebook.
In the lengthy note, the 48-year-0ld Grammy-winning singer wrote that she suffered “appalling cruelty” from her family after undergoing an unspecified surgical procedure in August.
“This week has broken me,” O’Connor wrote. “The withholding of my babies from me without any sound reason by their fathers, Frank and Donal, and by Jake and the rest of my family, is a horrific set of betrayals. And has been going on since I had my surgery.”
The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer said she had “taken an overdose” because “there is no other way to get respect.”

Does a common diabetes drug delay aging?
The world's first anti-ageing drug will be tested on humans next year in trials which could result in people being able to live healthily well into their 120s.
Scientists now believe it is possible to stop people growing old and consign diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's to history.
Although it might seem like science fiction, researchers have already proven that the diabetes drug metformin extends the life of animals, and the Food and Drug Administration in the US has now given the go-ahead for a trial to see if the same effects can be replicated in humans.
If successful it will mean that a person in their 70s would be as biologically healthy as a 50-year-old.
...Scientists think the best candidate for an anti-ageing drug is metformin, the world's most widely used diabetes drug which costs just 10 cents a day.
Metformin increases the number of oxygen molecules released into a cell, which appears to boost robustness and longevity.
When Belgian researchers tested metformin on the tiny roundworm C. elegans the worms not only aged slower, but they also stayed healthier longer. Last year Cardiff University found anecdotal evidence that when patients with diabetes were given the drug metformin they lived longer than others without the condition, even though they should have died eight years earlier on average.
The new clinical trial called Targeting Aging with Metformin, or TAME, is scheduled to begin in the US next winter. Scientists from a range of institutions are currently raising funds and recruiting 3,000 70 to 80-year-olds who have, or are at risk of, cancer, heart disease and dementia.

"Everything the World Has Culturally Appropriated from the West"
"In my research on cultural appropriation, I’ve uncovered a shocking truth, a great, unspoken crime against humanity, hidden in plain sight. It is the greatest, longest-running, and most heinous act of appropriation in global history."
The appropriation of Western Civilisation.
Half-Pakistani in descent, I feel a personal sense of guilt at how non-western countries have unapologetically oppressed their fellow nations. I’ve therefore taken it upon myself to compile a list of all the things the world has culturally appropriated from the west, in hope that this injustice might one day be corrected.
Philosophy
Alfred North Whitehead described philosophy as “a series of footnotes to Plato.”
Architecture
Look out at the skyline of any modern, non-western city, and you will find it looks strangely similar to a modern, western city.
Free Speech
People are so obsessed by free speech that they’ll actually fight their own countries just to appropriate it.
Due Process
This is another western cultural creation that causes non-westerners to go into rabid fits of appropriation-addled hunger. Entire wars have been waged and governments deposed for the chance to appropriate these.
Political Ideologies
Aside from Islamic countries, some of which are making a commendable effort to restrain themselves, most countries around the world have adopted a western political ideology of some kind.
Vaccines
Country doctor Edward Jenner invented the vaccine in England, 1776.
The Scientific Method
Yes, science can be appropriated. As postmodern feminists tell us, science is just another cultural/social construct. And it’s one that’s been stolen from the west.
The Automobile
Asian drivers might not have the greatest reputation, but the fact that they’re driving at all is down to the western invention of the car.
Video Games
Have you ever been beaten by a Korean person at Starcraft? Now you can feel personally racially victimised.
The Computer
Every time an Indian worker answers a tech support call, they are stealing another piece of western culture.
The Internet
“This is for everyone,” said the British inventor of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, at the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony. A traitor to his own culture if there ever was one.
Campus social justice warriors insist that the greatest victims of cultural appropriation are non-western cultures, like the Native Americans, Japan, and Mexico. No doubt, they would use some sort of intellectual contortion to claim that western culture can’t be appropriated. Something about “punching up,” or “culture plus power” no doubt.
But looking through history, a neutral observer can’t fail to see that western culture is the most appropriated of them all. Other countries have been borrowing, imitating, and remixing western culture for centuries.
And that, unquestionably, is a good thing. Look at what the Japanese have done with video games, computers, and animation. Look at the brilliance of Korean composers, trained in classical European music. Look at the industriousness of China. Western culture has enriched the world, just as non-western cultures have. It’s certainly possible to condemn it. But then, as demonstrated above, your arguments would look ridiculous.Via Instapundit.

"Suspected burglar stuck in chimney dies after residents light fire"
"Lt. Brandon Pursell said deputies received a 911 call to the 16000 block of West Gale Avenue just before 3 p.m. After lighting a fire, the male homeowner heard screaming coming from somewhere inside the house. When the resident realized a person was in the chimney, he extinguished the fire."
Deputies and firefighters had to smash the chimney to get the man out. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A comic book mirror of our world?
One interesting aspect is that several characters in the Marvel Universe are making their first appearance in this third entry in the Captain America cycle. Spiderman for one. He was the property of another studio and now the rights have reverted to Marvel. Also the Black Panther and Ant Man make an appearance.
I wonder how far they will take the metaphor. It looks interesting.

Song lyrics (in English) after the jump
Former New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Fergus Cullen unsuccessfully challenged Trump's eligibility to participate in the state's first-in-the-nation primary. 'Everyone benefits from his demise but everyone wants someone else to do it,' Cullen lamented, saying the front-runner could damage Republicans among minorities and women, potentially for many years. The obvious retort is what about candidates who do damage to whites and men? Why is that not freely admitted and talked about?

Dad demands abortion after surrogate learns she’s having triplets
New York Post By Carl Campanile November 25, 2015
A man who paid a surrogate to have his baby became overwhelmed when he learned she was having triplets — and demanded the woman abort one of the fetuses while threatening her with financial ruin, she claims.
“They are human beings. I bonded with these kids. This is just not right,” mom-to-be Melissa Cook told The Post on Tuesday.
Cook’s heart-wrenching dilemma comes as Gov. Andrew Cuomo and state lawmakers are weighing whether New York should lift its ban on commercial surrogacy, which was enacted in 1993.
The babies’ dad, a Georgia man, hired Cook for $33,000 to have a child by in-vitro fertilization using his sperm and the eggs of a 20-year-old donor.
The California woman was implanted with three embryos, which defied the odds to all go on to develop normally.
Cook, 47, said she and the man learned she was having triplets when the embryos were around 8 or 9 weeks. He almost immediately began to raise concerns, and they have grown increasingly threatening, she said.
Cook, a mother of four — including her own set of triplets — is now 17 weeks pregnant.
She also had a fifth child as a surrogate.
California law says that aside from life-threatening exceptions, fetuses can’t be aborted once they become “viable,’’ or around 20 weeks.
Oh WIlbur! People having sex with horses is on the rise in Switzerland!
More Swiss people are having sex with horses, according to a sickening new report.
There were 105 cases of the maltreatment of horses in Switzerland in 2014 — 10 percent of which involved people having sex with them, according to Tier im Recht, an animal welfare group.
“This rate is relatively elevated compared with other types of animals,” Andreas Rüttimann, a legal expert with the group, told reporters, The Local reported.
There are an estimated 110,000 horses living on 18,000 Swiss farms. Experts estimate that 10,000 people in Switzerland are “predisposed” to zoophilia, according to the 20 Minuten newspaper.
The group said the number of unreported horse abuse cases is likely much higher than reported, given that so many people in the country are involved with equestrian activities.
Overall, there were 1,709 incidents of abuse against animals in Switzerland in 2014, up from 1,542 from the previous year, according to Tier im Recht. "We did that this is problematic but then who are we to judge. So the Swiss government has decided to issue marriage licenses to legitimize the love that can not neigh it's name. Several celebrities have decided to move to Bern to take advantage of our European sensibility. Alan Young, Charlie Sheen and Miley Cyrus have already taken up residence."
As with many trends that originate in Europe the acceptance of Equine Love will soon be a reality here in the United States. It is reported the Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy is already in search of a penumbra. It is just a matter of time.
Space Act of 2015
The recent passage of the Space Act of 2015 in the U.S. House and Senate [still needing the president's signature] marks a key milestone for the commercial space industry. Ever since the 1967 Outer Space Treaty, nations have been banned from claiming or appropriating any celestial resource such as the Moon or another planet. Formally titled the “Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies,” the nearly fifty year old agreement has formed the basis of international space law ever since.
...It’s been estimated that a single platinum-rich asteroid 90 feet in diameter could be worth as much as $50 billion. Though these are still early days, there’s considerable speculation that space mining could eventually become a multi-trillion dollar industry. While many of the key players have been hesitant to publicly state specific timetables, some indications have been given for when active space mining might be expected. A recent study sponsored by the Keck Institute for Space Studies determined that a 500 metric ton asteroid could be captured and delivered to high lunar orbit where it would be mined for resources by 2025. That study was co-authored by two members of the asteroid mining operation, Planetary Resources. Another space venture, Deep Space Industries (DSI) has said it is planning to use materials made from mined asteroids, including fuel, water, metals and alloys, for in-space manufacture by the 2020s. Currently, a number of these companies are in the process of testing equipment on earth and in orbit, as well as surveying, identifying and analyzing prospective target asteroids.
...Will this truly launch a new industry of space mining? Only time will tell. But as Eric Anderson, co-founder and co-chairman of Planetary Resources stated following Congressional passage of the Act, “Many years from now, we will view this pivotal moment in time as a major step toward humanity becoming a multi-planetary species. This legislation establishes the same supportive framework that created the great economies of history, and it will foster the sustained development of space.”

Marco Rubio on gay marriage: It’s not “settled law,” it’s current law
Hot Air NOVEMBER 27, 2015 BY ALLAHPUNDIT
This won’t edge him past Cruz for the coveted Bob Vander Plaats endorsement in Iowa but it’ll help clean up a small mess he’s made for himself among social conservatives on gay marriage. Remember how Rubio reacted the day after the Supreme Court’s ruling on SSM came down, when loud-and-proud evangelicals like Huckabee slammed the Court for making law and called on Christians to practice civil disbodience? Quote: “While I disagree with this decision, we live in a republic and must abide by the law.” Well, okay, you say, but that’s not inconsistent with his point about settled law versus current law. We must abide by the law — but only until we can change it. In fact, the very next sentence of Rubio’s statement that day said that appointing originalist judges must be a priority for the next president, an obvious hint at overturning the decision.

Black Friday Matters!
Black Friday is a very important day for a lot of shops. If you are working on a small profit margin the boost you get from Holiday Sales are very important. Vital even. Not just the small Mom and Pops. Even the biggest Department stores depend on the bump up in Sales from the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Which starts with Black Friday and concludes with Cyber Monday.
The Scholars that infest the Black Lives Matter Movement have decided to do all they can to disrupt sales across the nation. They attacked Macy's in New York before the Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. They are especially rabid in Chicago. Breibart News reports:
Black Friday in Chicago: ‘No Justice–No Shopping!
Breibart.com by LEE STRANAHAN27 Nov 2015Roughly 3,000 demonstrators have shut down a large portion of Michigan Avenue in Chicago–the “Magnificent Mile”–in the middle of Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, to protest the shooting of black teenager Laquon McDonald.
Dowd invites brother to guest post his Republican views to short circuit politics during Thanksgiving meal
"Donald Trump: With all his bombast and incivility, Trump has joyfully debunked political correctness for the complete fraud that it is. With his talent for making debate ratings soar, he has allowed all the other candidates to be seen and heard at celestial levels unreachable without him. He has touched a nerve because people are fed up with liberal groups being offended at every slight, real or imagined. (I can assure you none of these people were taught by Jesuits.) Three Ivy League schools are currently under siege, with students at Princeton demanding the removal of Woodrow Wilson’s name from a building. Washington and Jefferson are up next as former slave owners, leaving Al Sharpton as the default “father of our country.” We are tired of apologies for America’s exceptionalism.
Ben Carson: Not since Eisenhower has a complete novice politician been so legitimate a contender. Can he avoid the traps set for him by the media? He presents intriguing possibilities as part of the ticket, forcing African-Americans to choose between him and the wife of the man Toni Morrison called our “first black president.”
Marco Rubio: Young, whip smart and self-assured, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of foreign affairs and is a stunning contrast to Hillary Clinton both in generation and vision. Wait until he starts delivering his speeches in Spanish.
Ted Cruz: The Hispanic heir apparent to Barry Goldwater had the best moment in the third debate, calling out an obscure cable TV host looking for his 10 minutes of fame.
Jeb Bush: I like the Bushes, all of them. Jeb would have been the perfect Republican candidate from 1988 to 2000. In this age of instant gratification, his wonkish grasp of policy does not move the needle. Too bad.
Chris Christie: Trump with better manners. A certain pick for attorney general if this gig does not work out.
...Our enemies do not fear us, and authority at home is being questioned by a disgraceful campaign since Ferguson to undermine the police. I am the son of a policeman, and a police officer is killed in the line of duty every 60 hours. The thin blue line is the only thing that separates our society from anarchy. There will be awful shootings by police officers like the one in Chicago, but these are exceptions. My dad told me that any job where you can legally carry a gun will occasionally draw the wrong type of person. Police officers certainly do not deserve to see the media turning criminals into celebrated victims. The next time you see a police officer, say thank you.
So, ask yourself three questions: Do you want a president who refuses to name the enemy? Who do you want to appoint the next three Supreme Court justices? And who will protect the homeland and honor the Constitution? Then pray that you got it right."

A Hungarian lorry driver has uploaded his expletive-laden rants as he drives through Calais, fending off migrants throwing bottles.
The unidentified big-rig driver has uploaded a remarkable 15-minute dashboard cam video (full clip below) of his drive to the port of Calais, which more resembles a journey through a warzone than a major conduit of international trade.
The clip shows his lorry being swarmed by migrants, which he shouts to as they bend his wing-mirrors back so he can’t see them trying to climb aboard. Aware that one migrant has climbed into the gap between the cab and the trailer, the driver shouts out of the window: “If you cut my pneumatic lines, I’ll kill you, you c*cksucker. Get down off there!
Black Lives Matter.....Pregnant Pastor's wife in her own home with an infant.....not so much
Did you hear about the murder of an Indianapolis Pastor's wife on November 10th? I bet you didn't. I know you heard about the knife wielding knucklehead getting shot by the cops. Amanda Balckburn was home alone with her 15 month old infant when three disadvantaged youtes broke into her house on the way to applying for college courses. Here is an account that provides some details:
Affidavit Provides Details in Murder of Pastor's Wife
Alabama.com By Jeremy Gray
An affidavit filed in the case of two men charged with murdering the pregnant wife of an Indianapolis pastor states the suspect accused of killing her leaned over her body after shooting her and "watched her bleed."
Amanda Blackburn, 28, was found partially nude, with her underwear nearby and her shirt pulled up, lying in a pool of blood on her living room floor. She died one day after the Nov. 10 attack on Indianapolis' northwest side.
Her husband, Pastor Davey Blackburn, told police he had left the home's front door unlocked when he departed about 6 a.m. that morning to go to the gym and work out and returned home about 8:20 a.m. to find his wounded wife. The couple's 15-month-old son, Weston, was at home upstairs in a crib but was not harmed in the attack.
"b" words
This is the b vocabulary encountered randomly by online reading unfamiliar somehow and researched for some reason.
I realized these files are not so good or useful as cards due to how they are created and how they are used.
Handwritten cards are better for impressing than copy / paste, the time it takes to write allows the material to cycle, the thought put into editing reinforces while c/p is zap there you go. Cards are at hand beckoning to be shuffled, there with you in your car idling in line at McDonald's, there with you at breakfast, on break, at lunch, on the throne whereas computer files just sit there untouched and unexamined. Cards can be bookmarks. Cards are dumber but better.
Indented, I don't know why I looked those up. Maybe to find the source, maybe to check something, sometimes to look at photos. The files have a lot more c/p information, but it never gets read. This right here is the most use the files ever had. As files, they're nearly useless as cards they could be worth something.

You might find these interesting.

How To Be Attractive (According to Russian Dating Websites)
Dedicated to Titus; never give up, doll.
How to be Right, Greg Gutfeld
Book report.
This book is recommended on right wing weekend book thread in strong terms as must-read for every conservative. It cost $12.00.
This book was read in one day while compiling two time-lapse gifs that take a lot of time processing batch files, and watching t.v., so during commercials, basically, two things going on more interesting than this, the book is taken up as second sub routine.
It is a small hard cover book, only 228 pages. My copy arrived without the usual jacket.
This report will relate the contents of every page. Like a time-lapse.
The book is dedicated to Greg's mum. He claims she is on every page. There is a photo of the two. It is a touching photograph. He mentions her several times throughout and to the end.
Greg postulates in his introduction it is not enough to be right, that emotions rule logic and feeling trump fact. He attempts to explain why we argue assuming we still bother. The right dwells on this. Thanksgiving season brings it out, all feast holidays do, reacting to things posted on White House web site instructing people how to address recalcitrant conservative FOX-watching uncles. He advises against certain suicidal pill of being shrill.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!
deborah said...More power to you, deborah. And remember, things can always be worse:
With my family it's a waste of a beautiful holiday. I love Thanksgiving. This past year I bought two vintage platters with turkeys on them. But there is always stress because two family members don't get along. I bailed this year, but next year they can suck it. I will rule that meal.

Thanksgivingmanship
"It is the goal of the dedicated Thanksgivingman, then, to achieve the sublime art of giving offense without offense being taken.
My basic strategy is thus: It would be as rude of you as it is rude of your cretinous grownchildren [young and progressive] kin to allow a Thanksgiving dinner into a stupid game of Rachel Maddow Talking Points and their rebuttals.
So, rather than confront the unemployed idiots who will be assailing you, I propose instead to superficially avoid conflict and engagement on their dummy mouthflappings, and appear instead to agree with them."

Ah, Thanksgiving. My strategy is more or less to not show up. I remember when it was considered impolite to discuss religion or politics.

Ben Carson: how have we "managed to convince women that that baby inside of her is her enemy and that she has that right"
"Speaking at “The Gift of Life Banquet” fundraiser for First Choice Pregnancy Center in Las Vegas, Carson argued that the “culture of death” was accepted in America because of “peer pressure.”
“Someone has tried to make this into an issue of women’s rights,” the GOP hopeful told the crowd.
“What about the baby? You know, it’s one of the most sacred relationships in the universe, a mother and that child inside of her. How have we become so distorted that we have managed to convince women that that baby inside of her is her enemy and that she has a right.”"

This, for me, goes to the heart of the question of abortion. At the center of the decision to abort is the woman's choice to kill not just an individual, but also part of herself, based on societal reasons.

An historic rocket landing
Blue Origin is a privately-funded aerospace developer and manufacturer established by Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos. The company launched a rocket straight up to low earth orbit and landed again upright for the first time ever. Nailing the landing is what makes the launch a first ever success, the flight trajectory less impressive as it was flown straight up and down basically.
Comments on YouTube are useful if there is some confusion with this launch and other private space related efforts.

Henry Hook
Today I opened a puzzled saved from two laptops ago. When it opened on the screen I looked at its size first, a large one, 21 X 21, not quite Sunday-size but this isn't going to be fast, not within minutes, and its shape, attractive with nice wide open areas with double barrels all over both horizontal and vertical, that is where the theme entries will be and there are a lot of them to help suss the thing out, the title next, "flip the bird," what? That is very uncrossword-like, who did that? Henry Hook. Oh. Well. It's all become clear
Henry would do that, remind us of something foul. It's why we love him so.
"Flip the bird" will mean something different in Wordlandia than it does in the world at large. It can mean an actual bird will be flipped. When it comes to words, and codes, and tricks, and Henry Hook Tomfoolery we can expect birds to be spelled backwards. We can expect this in the large open areas and since it is Henry Hook we are assured it will be genius. It will be entertaining. It will be deviantly clever. It will be cute, and terribly astute. That is Henry Hook.
Yes. Exactly. We see it right off, regular words clued deviantly, "composes" is the misdirecting clue for "calms."
The red square starting the long entry is
17a the clue: World capital since 1923
22a the clue: Advice in case of nuclear attack?
The question mark implies a goofy answer.
I do not know the 1923 capital out of hand. Israel was after that. So is Alaska I had A and N and K so I thought of birds instead of places with those letters, AWK and the like Auckland perhaps, I need a place, a capital, and a bird maybe backwards. Toucan is looking nice but doesn't work as anagram. I move along to other areas fill in other certain letters, past tenses, plurals, that sort of thing, keep looking back at the corner and see ANKARA. The bird is not an anagram for Ankara, and it's not just another bird, Turkey spelled backwards. Not just the clue, the whole puzzle is now solved.
I had KC for the start of the entry below it but that combination does not start words in English that I know. If only it were backwards then it could end in CK instead, and the common sense answer "duck and cover" can become "kcud and cover" boom, the whole puzzle solved and confirmed, just like that.
Really, it is. The theme is cracked and completely understood. The whole point of Henry Hook's mission is keep his theme secret for long as possible, to hold off that "aha" moment for a point of frustration. He wants solvers to be stumped. He wants them to put the puzzle down and come back to it with a fresh start, and none of that is going to happen because this thing is cracked. It's just a matter now of going through and discovering which birds Henry Hook spelled backwards throughout and see how clever Henry Hook is with his bird related phrases, how funny all that is and how entertaining Henry Hook is when he set his mind to being funny. Truly, the man is a riot. And beyond that the puzzle is all fill. The whole puzzle is fill to hold together Henry Hook's collection of backward spelled birds so that common words and phrases like "Ankara Turkey" and "duck and cover" are rendered to spellings with flipped birds.
If you understand him, the man is a riot. And if you do not understand him, he is rude as can be, bus terminal rude, muttering fallen down drunk homeless malcontent rude, banned from polite society in fact, banned from the competitions, for awhile until rehabilitated. It was not that everybody could not handle Henry so much as Henry could not handle polite people, genius in their own right so much thicker than he. He can't stand it. He has precious few friends. Henry is quite good at compiling crossword puzzles. He was the lad who stunned Eugene Maleska by responding personally to a message hidden inside a crossword that is read separately once completely solved by holding the puzzle and turning it around like a wheel, "You have just finished the world's most remarkable crossword." At age fourteen Henry Hook wrote a puzzle with its own hidden message specifically for Eugene Maleska, editor of NYT Crossword puzzles, "What makes you think your puzzle is so amazing?"
This amused and impressed Eugene Maleska.
Adult Henry would sit down and in just a few minutes, ten maximum, he'd have his puzzles for the Boston Globe written for the week. He just thinks them and writes them. A week's work in just a few minutes. And he cheats. He misspells to force things to fit, breaks other rules of symmetry, just to have three or four extra but fantastic thematic entries crammed in illegally. Solvers forgave him because he is so entertaining. Turns out, straight up genius or not, writing puzzles is the only thing Henry Hook ever could do. He is incapable of any work. He is a social disaster.
Was. I am dismayed to see his Wikipedia page says that Henry Hook died a few weeks ago, October 27th 2015. Rest in peace, Henry Hook, you mad genius. I'll go back now and check out the rest of your flipped birds. I'm certain they're all very amusing. Thank you for a lifetime of cheerful and impressive puzzles.

"Oh my God, you are such a weasel!": Things pols say to each other behind the scenes
"The audio recording is a conversation between two political candidates trying to schedule a meeting with each other. But at times, it sounds more like a Hollywood thriller — an especially melodramatic one."
Greitens: “I'm going to ask you one more time, John . . . when we sit down . . . I want you to look in my eye and I want you to tell me the truth.”
Brunner (laughing): “Listen, Eric, you don't need to tell me how to look in a person's eye. All right? . . .”
Greitens: “I want you to look in my eye – ”
Brunner: “Who do you think I am, telling me to look in your eye? (Laughing)
Greitens: “You won't answer.”
Brunner: “. . . You think I'm a kid? Let's have a decent respect for each other . . .”
Greitens: “A decent respect for each other? A decent respect for each other is not hiding.”
Brunner: “Eric, I've never hidden in my life . . . ”
Greitens: “. . . It's very clear, John, to everyone, that this (negative campaigning) is you. . . .”
Brunner: (Laughs) “Well, Eric, that is nice that you can draw all these conclusions . . .”
Greitens: “You won't deny it. You won't deny it.”
Woman's voice, whispering to Brunner (at 8:37): “Just deny it. Deny it. Deny it.”
Brunner: “Eric, listen, the truth will come out when you and I sit down and talk, and I don't take accusations over the phone, I don't take people yelling at me, I don't take people insinuating anything, and frankly I think it's disgusting the way you've handled this phone call and the way you've handled this whole situation.”Both campaigns confirmed this week that the recording is genuine, and Brunner's campaign confirmed it made the recording.
Reason Number 659 why I love Donald Trump and you Rhinos can suck it!
Trump on waterboarding: “If it doesn’t work, they deserve it anyway”
POSTED AT 11:21 AM ON NOVEMBER 24, 2015 BY ALLAHPUNDIT (Hot air)
Pretty risky. The number of Republican primary voters who agree with this can’t be more than, what? 80-85 percent?
The actual figure is a little lower, although only a little. From a CBS poll last December:
Forty-nine percent of Americans think waterboarding and other aggressive interrogation tactics are sometimes justified to get information from suspected terrorists, but just over a third — 36 percent — think they are never justified. The percentage who thinks these tactics are justified has risen slightly from three years ago.More than seven in 10 Republicans (73 percent) and half of independents (50 percent) think these tactics are sometimes justified. Most Democrats (54 percent) do not. Those who have heard or read a lot about the report are even more likely than Americans overall to say these tactics are justified. One of the techniques highlighted in the report is the use of waterboarding, in which the sensation of drowning is created by either dunking a restrained prisoner in water or pouring water over the prisoner’s face. As they did five years ago, most Americans consider this technique to be torture, including majorities of Democrats (83 percent), independents (67 percent), and half of Republicans. The percentage of Americans who do not consider waterboarding torture is unchanged, at 26 percent.
Fifty-one percent of Republicans think waterboarding is torture but 73 percent say it and other “aggressive interrogation tactics” are justified at least some of the time. And the trendline is upward, not downward, which feels counterintuitive as we get farther away from 9/11.FiveThirtyEight crunched some data from Pew late last year:
Carlyle Begay, Arizona Democrat Senator switches to Republican party
Carlyle Begay says a lot of people are going to be unhappy but he finds Republican party more suitable to the needs of his tribes citing unemployment and infrastructure high suicide rates in his two minute video explaining himself and his decision.
What more is there to say? Sensible fellow.
Are we more afraid of PC than afraid of the terrorist?
"A local (Revere, Mass) high school cheerleading captain was disciplined after she sent out a tweet about illegal immigrants."
She says it was a political statement, not a racial one. FOX25 spoke with the teen who says she was taking a page from Donald Trump. Caley Godino is a senior at Revere High School and she says part of their homework is to watch these presidential debates and her tweet was simply about a hot button issue in the headlines.
"When only 10 percent of Revere votes for mayor cause the other 90 percent isn't legal," Godino said in the tweet.
She says it was a response to a tweet from her teacher about the low voter turnout for November's mayoral race. Caley says she meant her tweet as a political comment, not a racial one.
But after other students complained, the school stepped in. Revere Superintendent Dianne Kelly says the district believes in freedom of speech, but cannot support what she calls insensitive language. (read more and watch video at the link)
What does Obama want to hear?
"A number of Centcom analysts say their superiors falsified intelligence assessments, overstating the success of US airstrikes and downplaying ISIS’s growth. Fox News reports the analysts got at least two e-mails ordering them to “cut it out” and “toe the line” after they filed reports on the “rapid rise” of ISIS."
Glen Beck says the Obama policy all along has been ISIS to fight and depose Assad, for him, and later take credit.
Now the Pentagon’s inspector general has seized e-mails and documents from military servers and is adding investigators to the team poring over the evidence. But both Fox and The New York Times report that some of those documents and messages may already have been deleted.
Obama said Sunday that from the moment he took office, he demanded intelligence not be “shaded by politics” or “the desire to tell a feel-good story.”
Hmm. If he’s been getting good intel, he’s ignored it. How else to explain his calling ISIS the “JV team,” or saying it’s been “contained” just hours before the Paris attacks?Obama at the G20 Conference a week ago: I’m Not Interested In ‘American Leadership, Or America Winning’ So, my question is, why wouldn't the people passing on the intelligence to him color it, shifted it, twisted it, to reflect what Obama is interested in?

"Homeland Security Knew Illegal Aliens Falsely Claimed “Credible Fear” to Stay in U.S."
The Obama administration let hundreds of illegal immigrants stay in the U.S. even though federal authorities knew in advance that an open borders group coached them to falsely claim “credible fear” to get asylum, according to documents obtained by Judicial Watch from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The operation was part of a scam conducted by an immigrant rights organization called the National Immigrant Youth Alliance (NITA), which in recent years has coordinated demonstrations along the Southwest border in Texas and Arizona. In mid-2014 the group orchestrated a racket seeking to bring 250 illegal aliens into the U.S. through the Otay Mesa Port of Entry in San Diego, California. To assure the migrants were allowed to stay in the U.S., the group had them falsely claim that they had a “credible fear” of returning to their native country. Foreigners can claim asylum under five categories, based on fear of persecution over race, religion, nationality, political opinions or membership in a specific social group. (read more)

"Facing highest threat alert, Belgians bring out their cats"
What police force would start playing along with a practical joke when the capital is facing its highest state of alert and its most-wanted fugitive is still on the run? Right!
Late Sunday, police asked people to stop commenting on ongoing raids in social media to avoid tipping off suspects.
En masse, they did more than that, becoming mischievous within minutes.
The hashtag #BrusselsLockdown suddenly shifted from serious to humorous, tweeting a flood of pictures of all-too-innocent cats in all kinds of situations — holding their paws up as if captured, posing as police snipers with automatic weapons, and ignoring police warnings to stay away from windows.
One tweet had a cat wearing a bowler hat, the trademark of Rene Magritte, Belgium's greatest surrealist.
Within hours, federal prosecutor Eric Van Der Syp said police wanted to thank "social media users because they took the need of this operation into account."
Police joined the party on Monday, posting a picture of a dish overflowing with dry cat food "For the cats that came to our aid last evening. Serve yourself! #BrusselsLockdown"
