Superman gets woke....and another hero falls

Did you hear that DC Comics has decided to sign on to the hate America agenda and repudiate the 80 year old history of the Man of Steel?

From Bounding into comics:  In one of the most audacious, yet unsurprising moves from DC Comics in recent years, the comic book publisher has announced that they will officially be dropping “The American Way” from Superman’s iconic catchphrase in favor of a more inclusive alternative.

As announced by DC Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee during the October 2021 edition of DC FanDome, the Man of Steel’s iconic catchphrase will be updated from “Truth, Justice, and The American Way” to “Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow” in order to “better reflect the global storylines that we are telling across DC and to honor the character’s incredible legacy of over 80 years of building a better world.”

You see the woke globalist millennial generation hates America and everything it stands for and will do anything they can to destroy it. They are not interested in the American Way. You see the American way is steeped in "White Supremacy" and must be destroyed at all cost.

Comics have been destroyed by the woke  The sales are so abysmal that both Marvel and DC will soon be scrapped and strip mined for movie fodder. The losses on the comic book publishing is so great that they are not sustainable. They have alienated their audience in order to appeal to a woke gay trans audience that does not exist. So another America institution goes by the wayside like the Boy Scouts or the public schools. Globalism, critical race theory and pro LBGT propaganda have combined to destroy the comic book industry.

The American Way has been driven underground. 

If George Reeves were around and wearing his Superman underwear he would kill himself.

It's sick out there and getting sicker.

In a recent article in Bounding Into Comics we learn that the "New Superman" has done away with the "American Way" in his catch phrase. I am sure you remember it from the old TV series with the great George Reeves in which he strives to fight for "Truth, Justice and the American Way." The new Superman is his son Jonathan Kent and he has dropped any consideration of America in his thinking. In fact he is ashamed of America and hates it along with capitalism and the norms that made this country great.

This is a common problem with many aspects of American Life. The reason why it bothers so many of us is that comics were a big part of our growing up. We all loved Batman and Spiderman and Superman. We went to the movies and watched the TV shows and bought the comics. The 1950's Superman show was on everyday in the sixties. You would come home from school and catch it being replayed all the time. Now the powers that be are using their influence on the younger generation to instill hatred of America, capitalisms, Christianity and heterosexuality in their readers. Old heroes are changed into different genders and sexual preferences all in the name of political correctness. They can't invent new characters for these groups they can only destroy old ones. That is what liberalism is. Destruction of the pillars of our society. What made America great. Like Superman.

There isn't much you can do. Of course you could not spend money on their offerings which many will do and is the reason why the box office and television ratings have tanked. Independent comic book writers have begun to offer their own takes which are much more traditional and family friendly. Vox Day the blogger and publisher of Castalia House has begun publishing the work of old hands like Chuck Dixon which are worth your time if you are a comics fan. I know most of you are well past reading comics but you can recommend them to your grand kids and get them on the right path instead of reading the woke drivel that passes for comics these days. 

I never thought I would see the day when Superman would hate America.

Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos #7 (Jack Kirby art) 1964

Nick Fury and his Howling Commandos was one of my favorite comics when I was a kid.  In the early 1960's we had a bunch of TV shows and movies and comics based on World War 2. Like Combat and Twelve O'Clock High and the Rat Patrol. Our fathers and uncles had served and they would often watch these shows and just shake their heads. Of course it was Vietnam time so the more patriotic companies emphasized World War 2 which everyone thought was a just war.

So imagine my chagrin when Marvel changed Nick Fury to a black guy in the movies and cast that horrible racist Samuel L  Jackson. Marvel is great for that They are extremely liberal and politically correct. First they did this stuff in their comics and now it is going to appear in the movies. The next Thor will be a woman. Yes that's right the God of Thunder Thor Odinson will be played  by Natalie Portman who was famous for playing a ballerina. The new TV show about the Hulk will feature the She Hulk. Soon enough they will showcase Ms Marvell Kamala Khan who is a Muslim superhero. Political Correctness is all in the comics and the movies these days.

Avengers Assemble.....wait.....you old white guys.....not so much.

I am too old for comic books. As I am sure you guys are as well. The thing is I notice that there is really a case of arrested development in the younger crowd. Guys into their 30's are still buying and reading comic books. I mean I gave that up when I got hair on  my balls. Now I do love me a good Superhero movie since they are recreating the origin stories from the Jack Kirby/Stan Lee era of Marvel.

Now I hear that they have become strictly Social Justice Warriors. They made Thor into a girl! I mean really. They have Spider-man agonizing over beating up a criminal because he was a minority!

Vox Day has an interesting post about this. In it he talks about the foolishness of diversity in comics. He has substantial quotes from another blogger who is also very interesting. Jon Del Arroz writes the following:

"Marvel has a diversity problem.  

In that they have none in terms of diversity of thought. They are a pure social justice propaganda arm. This is dangerous when it comes to creating art, as if you have everyone thinking in lockstep, unable to get outside the box, you’ll have creative stagnation. More than that, when you turn children’s adventure fiction into adult message browbeating, you lose any semblance of fun that a product formerly had. It’s no wonder that sales have dropped by about half, when they have an entire writing core of every single one of their monthly writers hell-bent on a crusade of alienating half of the country in some social engineering through comics.  I don’t exaggerate my numbers either, and I did some leg work for you all so you might better make educated purchases, or lack thereof, of Marvel Comics.

When I was a kid I was a voracious reader. There is a public library on the corner of Clinton and Union Street. My Dad brought me there when I was in the first grade because he was always taking out books. Every week we would go and he would take out a bunch of books and I would get one or two. Kid books at first but gradually I got into the adult section. I took all of the usual suspects. Jack London. Steinbeck. Twain. Jules Verne. Arthur Conan Doyle. So when these books came up I had read them years before and the book reports were a breeze.

Not so much for some of the other mooks in Sacred Hearts. They couldn't be bothered. So they relied on two major source materials. Cliff Notes and Classic Comics.

I enjoyed collecting comics back in the day. In the sixties Marvel was just starting out with the heroes that are making millions today in the movies. I had a bunch of the origin stories and full collections for a lot of years until I lost interest. Of course they all got thrown out and I lost the dough I would have made if I had kept them but waddaygonnado.

I do have to admit that I always loved the Classic Comics. My favorite was my dog eared copy of Michael Strogoff. A tale by Jules Verne about Russia and the Tsar. We were all up in the Russki's face in those days. With Khrushchev banging his shoe and the Missile Crisis and what not. So to read about Russia before the Commies was very interesting to me. It was one of the few comics I kept.

I haven't thought about that for a long time. The mention of Classic Comics brought it all back. I thnk we should chip in and send President Trump the whole series. I think it might help him. At least it will keep his attention.

Reed Richards: You don't understand Sue. We had collaborated on so many projects. People marveled at our posts and comments on our scholarly papers. People were entertained by our collaborations. But he kept demanding money and contributions. Almost as though he was deserving of tribute. Like some sort of despot. And he is so rich. I didn't understand it. And he tolerated some fools who would post repetitive and abusive screeds on our scholarly works. It besmirched our collaborations to the point that I had to break away and do my own research.
Sue Richards That may be so. But now he only spews hatred and vitriol throughout his writings.  He is almost as bad as that black dude T'Nestle Cooter or whatever his name is. You can’t get him back Reed. Come to bed.
Reed Richards: In a little while Sue.
Sue Richards: Is it because you have been having too much elasticity in little Reed? I mean that happens to a lot of men. Even superheroes. I mean look at Iron Man. He should be called Putty Man cause he sure don’t have any Iron in his pants.I mean he is banging that skinny bitch and she is always sticking stuff up her butt and cleaning her colon or something. Maybe he is into anal or something. I don't understand. I don't understand anything anymore. It is all so very confusing. I mean how did my brother turn out to be black in the latest movie. What's up with that? Com’on I bet you can stretch it out right if you really concentrate. Or you can invent some super Viagra or something.
Reed Richards: Please Sue stop pressuring me!
Sue Richards: Well Mr. Fantastic you better be stretching yourself the way I want or my vag is really gonna get invisible, let me tell you.

Comics 10¢, an unbelievably difficult decision because it means selecting the thing you're actually going to read, decode all those words in the little dialog boxes. I'd rather just study the pictures' details and ignore all the words but apparently they're deemed necessary and if it were not for comic books I'd avoid reading altogether. Decoding. It wasn't fun. With all those unnecessary tricks like silent letters and fake out pronunciations. Japanese writing is little pictures that makes more sense than sounds and so is Egyptian writing, no decoding at all, just looking at pictures. None of this sounding it out stuff with all the fake out traps. Pictures. That's the way to go when it comes to reading.

However, a counter-movement sprang up, with others calling on DC to #SaveTheCover – among them American actor Adam Baldwin – and saying that pulling the cover would amount to censorship.
