Social Justice Warrior Sophia Bush won't give a straight answer as to why she left Chicago PD TV show.

Sophia Bush compares ‘Chicago P.D.’ to being ‘trapped in a burning building’

Sophia Bush shocked audiences earlier this year when she left “Chicago P.D.” after the show’s Season 4 finale. On Refinery 29’s “UnStyled” podcast, Bush opened up for the first time about what made her leave her “dream job.”

“I landed this job that, since I was 20 years old and trying to become an actor, I said I wanted. And aspects of it, don’t get me wrong, were wonderful,” the actress said. “But I knew by the end of the second season I couldn’t do that job anymore.”

Bush played Detective Erin Lindsay on the hit NBC show for four years, and had previously refused to discuss what made her leave the role beyond saying in an Instagram comment that “I left because I wanted to. End of story.” She said during the podcast that between Seasons 3 and 4 of the show, she sat down with her bosses to discuss her experience on the set.

"Excommunicate Me From The Church Of Social Justice."

Via Instapundit:

There is an underlying current of fear in my activist communities, and it is separate from the daily fear of police brutality, eviction, discrimination, and street harassment. It is the fear of appearing impure. Social death follows when being labeled a “bad” activist or simply “problematic” enough times. I’ve had countless hushed conversations with friends about this anxiety and how it has led us to refrain from participation in activist events, conversations, and spaces because we feel inadequately radical. I actually don’t prefer to call myself an activist, because I don’t fit the traditional mold of the public figure marching in the streets and interrupting business as usual. When I was a Christian, all I could think about was being good, showing goodness, and proving to my parents and my spiritual leaders that I was on the right path to God. All the while, I believed I would never be good enough, so I had to strain for the rest of my life toward an impossible destination of perfection.

I feel compelled to do the same things as an activist a decade later. I self-police what I say in activist spaces. I stopped commenting on social media with questions or pushback on leftist opinions for fear of being called out. I am always ready to apologize for anything I do that a community member deems wrong, oppressive, or inappropriate—no questions asked. The amount of energy I spend demonstrating purity in order to stay in the good graces of a fast-moving activist community is enormous. Activists are some of the judgiest people I’ve ever met, myself included. There’s so much wrongdoing in the world that we work to expose. And yet, grace and forgiveness is hard to come by in the broader community. At times, I have found myself performing activism more than doing activism. I’m exhausted, and I’m not even doing the real work I am committed to do. The quest for political purity is a treacherous distraction for well-intentioned activists.

"Social Justice Warrior Abuses Her Lyft Driver Over ‘Offensive’ Hula Girl Bobblehead"

HeatStreat:  A (we’re guessing) drunk turbo-feminist entered a Lyft car, and instead of quietly enjoying the ride, she decided it was best to berate the driver for five minutes over a hula girl bobblehead sitting on his dashboard.

“You thought that was adorable,” she said to him. “You didn’t think of the pillaging of, like, the continent of Hawaii.”

For the crime of insulting the “continent” of Hawaii, the Lyft driver had to endure some of the worst entitled valley girl speak that California has to offer. Finally he decided to kick her out of the car after miraculously keeping his cool through her profanity-laden rant.

Instant Replay- The Unedited Version

Leon Crenshaw went back to work today, back to grass drills and wind sprints. They kept him in the hospital for only four or five hours, gave him some intravenous injections and sent him back to training camp. Leon's one of a half a dozen Negro rookies trying out for the team, and I was thinking today that when I joined the Packers in 1958, there was only one Negro on the whole team. Now we eight Negros in the starting lineup, and four of them made the All-Pro team.

We have the Negros because of Lombardi. Don't get me wrong he doesn't like them very much. He calls them "moolies" and is much harder on them than anyone else. But he would use anyone to win. He would even use a Chinaman if he had too!

It is the people of Wisconsin that really hate the Negros. They are all upset with the civil rights situation in the South and will protest and raise money and all of that. But they don't want to live next to them. Green Bay is about the whitest place in the world. The Negro players are very uncomfortable about living there. They tell me they have to live in the "Toe" in Milwaukee. I asked them "What is the Toe?" They said "The Get-toe!" I guess that is where you can catch them.

Janis Ian gets booted from Facebook for reposting lewd cartoon

   New York Post

Sixties folkie Janis Ian is fighting The Man again — but this time the man is Mark Zuckerberg.
Ian — whose early recordings were censored because of their socially progressive themes — has been banned from Facebook after reposting a cartoon showing an elderly woman with incongruously perky breasts standing naked in front of a mirror with the caption, “Beauty fades, but implants last forever.”
The “At Seventeen” singer was locked out of the site for 24 hours, then posted the image again only to be given the boot again.
Her wife, Patricia Snyder, told Ian’ s 400,000 followers that they believe the ban’s the work of a troll Ian blocked from her page for making racist remarks, who then complained about the cartoon in retaliation.

Canadian Comedian fined and College "Privilege Board" at Appalachian State

Canadian comedian Mike Ward was fined a whopping $42,000 by Quebec’s Human Rights Tribunal for jokes he made about a disabled boy.

Appalachian State University students must walk past a “privilege board” denouncing their white, male, able-bodied, Christian, or cisgender privilege any time they enter the Student Union.
The bulletin board is located in Plemmons Student Union (PSU), which the school calls “the centerpiece of the Appalachian campus,” and was apparently put up by a student group last semester, but has been allowed to remain in place to date.

Bogus SJW concerns about bullshit tweets are being used to try to get Blake Shelton off "The Voice."

Blake’s racist tweets force ‘The Voice’ to do damage control

 New York Post Page Six
NBC’s “The Voice” is straining over a scandal involving Blake Shelton’s alleged racist, homophobic and just-plain-creepy tweets.
After social-media mavens managed to dig up the offending messages — which were posted between 2010 and 2011, before Shelton became a household name — we’re told that publicists for the NBC talent show called at least one major media outlet and threatened to cut off access to the show’s stars, and tapings, if it continued to cover the kerfuffle.

"Oregon State to force ‘social justice’ training on freshmen"

The College FixThe new program “is intended to provide all students entering Oregon State University an orientation to concepts of diversity, inclusion, and social justice and help empower all OSU students to contribute to an inclusive university community,” campus documents state.
“Social justice” is largely a progressive phrase mainly used to tout left-leaning agendas such as environmentalism, socialism, feminism and gay rights. Oregon State would not be the first public university to mandate such a curriculum. At UMass Amherst, students are required to take two “social justice” classes to earn diploma, for example.

Oregon State is no stranger to social justice training. Last year, the public university spent $11,500 on three racially segregated social justice retreats for students that examined topics such as white privilege, racism and oppression, according to financial records obtained by The College Fix through a public records act request.
Please watch the following video, the relevance of which will not become apparent until about 3 minutes in.

Here (Link to a tweet) is an example of someone whose eyes and ears do not seem open. She's a correspondent for the New York Times and CNN analyst. I came to read the tweet via Instapundit.

I had to read it a few times before I could fully grasp it's colossal significance. See if you can pick up on it, and... blurt it out in the comments.

ESPN is losing subscribers at an astonishing rate and they don't care because their SJW agenda is more important than money!

The Cost of SJW Convergence by Vox Day August 6. 2016
ESPN is paying it, having lost 4 million subscribers and $350 million in the last year:
In the past five years ESPN has lost 11,346,000 subscribers according to Nielsen data.

If you combine that with ESPN2 and ESPNU subscriber losses this means that ESPN has lost over a billion dollars in cable and satellite revenue just in the past five years, an average of $200 million each year. That total of a billion dollars hits ESPN in the pocketbook not just on a yearly basis, but for every year going forward.

It's gone forever.

That's not just bad, this is downright cataclysmic.

And it's getting worse.

In the past year ESPN lost 4.159 million subscribers, that's another $350 million in lost revenue across the ESPN family of networks.

"Yale undergraduates demand the right to be ignorant"

From Cannon Fodder:
In New Haven, Connecticut, a group of undergraduates have just come up with a groundbreaking proposal. Their petition calls on Yale University’s English department to abolish a course on major writers and poets. The curriculum includes such figures as Geoffrey Chaucer, John Milton, and William Shakespeare. “It is unacceptable,” the screed declares, “that a Yale student considering studying English literature might read only white male authors.”
The trouble with the demand is not its petulance but its timidity. If the canonical English bards, novelists, and playwrights are to be minimized—or banished entirely—why stop there? If the protestors want to “decolonize the course, and focus the curriculum” to “deliberately include literatures relating to gender, race, sexuality, ableism and ethnicity,” why not decolonize the entire university catalogue?
Manifestly, this purification of Western culture would have to include music. Out goes J.S. Bach, who was not only Caucasian but German, deeply religious, and straight (two wives, 20 children). The Teutonic Franz Josef Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Johannes Brahms would join him on the proscribed list, along with the Austrian Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and such Italians as Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Verdi, and, it goes without saying, Antonio Vivaldi, the redheaded priest.
The dominant figures in painting and sculpture must also be scrubbed from the picture, just as Josef Stalin ordered “counter-revolutionaries” airbrushed from photographs. Arrivederci signors Michelangelo and Da Vinci; adieu messieurs Cezanne, Renoir, and Toulouse-Lautrec (though the latter might be squeezed in under the ableism statute). Bon soir Monet, Manet, Picasso et. al.
Inventors must also be purged. Benjamin Franklin—who discovered electricity when he was not part of a government that employed slaves—Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Nikola Tesla, the Wright Brothers, Henry Ford, and all other heirs of white privilege, no matter how impoverished their beginnings, will vanish from the textbooks, available only to antiquarians.
But the statues that throw the longest shadows are those of scientists. These icons must be smashed head to toe. The Catholic Church couldn’t make Galileo disappear, but the petitioners are proudly—majestically—uninformed about history. Surely the statue of the astronomer can be knocked off its pedestal, and the entire pantheon spray-painted with progressive graffiti. Archimedes, who founded the study of physics; Rene Descartes and his mathematical formulae; Louis Pasteur and his germ theory; Charles Darwin and his writings on evolution; Isaac Newton; Albert Einstein; Enrico Fermi; Sigmund Freud, and so many others who built Western civilization—pale males from the colonizing nations, every last one.

"CBS put on defensive for new shows starring white males..."

Soon observers began to accuse the broadcaster of not doing enough to cast women and actors of color at a time when the rest of the industry was making strides in that direction.
On Wednesday, CBS unveiled its fall schedule to reporters and network executives were asked about the network’s “male-centered” lineup.

"Zoolander 2 Is Too Offensive for Students, University Shows Deadpool Instead"

Claremont McKenna College's student programming board cancelled a planned screening of Zoolander 2 because the film's humor is inappropriate and comes "at the expense of individuals of marginalized identities." The college ultimately decided to show Deadpool instead.
Of course, many people would probably find the R-rated Deadpool a whole lot more offensive than the PG-13 rated Zoolander 2. I've seen Deadpool. It's incredibly violent, graphically sexual, and contains plenty of offensive humor of its own. (It's also a great film.)
The difference, it seems, is that Zoolander 2 offends "marginalized identities."
The Rotten Tomatoes rating for Zoolander 2 is 24%. That's not good. Why can't offensive movies be any good? Is it too much to ask?

Not the Onion: Thousands of teachers flock to ‘White Privilege Conference’

The annual event is aimed at promoting the theory of White Privilege – that American society is hopelessly stacked against minorities and the only way to fix the system is for white people to acknowledge their immense “privilege” and repent.
“Our vision is to build a community committed to dismantling white privilege, white supremacy and oppression, every day, everywhere,” wrote Eddie Moore Jr., founder and president of “The Privilege Institute,” which organizes the event.
“WPC fosters an environment where every participant can engage deeply, and then through our Accountability program, bring what they have learned back to their own community so that their WPC experience impacts their lives, employment, and community all year long.”
Metro reports 2,500 teachers, school administrators and counselors will attend the conference — the largest attendance to date.

Intersectional Feminism: What is it?

If you were confused, as I was yesterday, over the post exposing "cultural appropriation", this video explains the situation at colleges and universities, beautifully.

"At least now I have a social-justice reason to hate this song"

NRO: According to posters placed around the University of Oklahoma campus by the Gender+Equality Center, Adele’s song “Hello” is one of many songs that “normalize sexual harassment.”

The poster features the phrase “even great songs can normalize sexual harassment” and the lyric of the song that the group has a problem with: “I must have called 1,000 times.”

Now, maybe I have just a little too much faith in humanity, but I kind of feel like anyone who is not completely stupid would realize that the line is meant to be a hyperbole and that no one is actually calling her ex 1,000 times.

And, as the Media Research Center points out, even if she was calling her ex literally 1,000 times, it would really just constitute regular harassment and not sexual harassment. (Unless, of course, she was also leaving pornographic voicemails, which I’ve gotta say would be a pretty doggone weird thing for a heartbroken person to do.)

Former Social Justice Warrior in his own words

Reddit archive: Changing was a long process. I initially got into SJW groups sort of through popularity- feminism was supposed to be THE thing for equality, and I wanted everyone to be treated well, so I joined a bunch of feminist forums, which branched into more garden variety SJW circles. Initially I had no idea there was a dark side to it.

I had some weird views before; I think in a lot of ways I was a stereotypical white knight. I was depressed at the time, and being applauded for being progressive definitely was an ego boost. Fighting people I perceived as bigoted made me feel better about myself. My SJW tendencies were based mostly out of self loathing- I felt weird, like an outcast, had never had a girlfriend, hated myself, and thought that I was fixing myself by jumping deep into feminism. I armed myself with a lot of bad statistics (like the 1 in 4 rape stat) and felt smart because of it.

After a while it becomes second nature; you just sort of convince yourself that you're on the right side and see your opponent as a stereotype out of reflex. That can happen here too, but SJW's actively encourage it. You become utterly convinced that you're part of an elite, enlightened group fighting an aging generation of uneducated racists and sexists.

But eventually I started to realize that I had incomplete information. I lost a lot of arguments to people I'd stereotyped as being dumb. The people I called allies just jumped to ad hominem attacks and semantic arguments, and that made them secure in their beliefs. That's how they operate; when they lose, their mental gymnastics aren't supposed to convince you. It's to convince themselves, to justify not changing their sources or beliefs. And it's very effective at that. It worked for me for a while.

But eventually it wasn't enough for me. I started trying to revise feminist arguments with new, accurate sources. I'd correct people on my own side on forums and whatnot. They hated that, and jumped right to calling me a rape apologist and a woman hater. I was blown away, it contradicted my notion that we were the logical side.

At the same time I started college, my grades were pretty awesome and college was way less stressful for me than high school had been. I had so much more time I took an active interest in learning some real skills for the first time. I'm making my own indie game now in between my regular job, based on the skills I learned my first couple years of college in my free time. I also got a girlfriend for the first time. She was (and is) amazing, best thing that ever happened to me.

This stuff gave me a little bit of pride that was extremely harmful to the communities I was in. Whereas before when someone generalized most men as rapists, it had given me an opportunity to feel superior to other men while still hating myself, now all of a sudden it offended my new-found self worth. Their communities thrive on self loathing disguised as elitism. And then the womens' studies class I took in college cited people absolutely insane- like Andrea Dworkin. Even as indoctrinated as I was at the time, I still knew that class was too far.

I still find it funny that, though most of the class started out conservative and was roped into SJW mentalities, I started out SJW and by the end of the class it had practically ruined feminism for me. Because I'd been a part of it before. I knew when the professor was wrong. I knew how hollow the "peace and acceptance" spiel they preached was. I knew the counter points to their sources. It felt like a bad joke to me at the time; I knew how my classmates felt, I'd felt the same way months earlier. But I was powerless to actually explain that to anyone, they just demonise and talk in circles until the argument goes away. As I had done months earlier. At first I felt bad, ashamed, for going against everything. I wanted to be convinced again, I wanted to be a good SJW again. And all of a sudden I realized it wasn't going to get better. I was in a university class about feminism, overrun with SJW's, and they had worse arguments than I'd seen online. There was no smarter next level to feminism that I was just too stupid to see. That was it. I was at the top and our arguments still sucked.

The last straw was when I made a desperate, ditch effort to convert my brown female girlfriend to feminism with me. It failed; she said feminists in her country were crazy. We argued a bit. Finally it felt like a curtain was being pulled back and I realized the ridiculousness of it all. I was a stupid white knight arguing with a brown girl that she should be more feminist. I deconverted on the spot. I stopped being ashamed of myself, a lot of things changed about the way I see myself and the world. Ironically, I stopped seeing every situation as a men vs. women or race vs. race binary. SJW's insist their goal is to make everyone equal, and for a long time I believed it, but their communities actually enforce factionalism and division.

I know this post makes me look bad, I cringe every time I think about the things I used to believe and say. I feel bad about the good people I insulted and wrote off. The good news is, I'm not the same person as I was in my mid-late teens. My life actually functions and has a purpose now, so that's nice. I try to see every situation in terms of individuals now, not sides. I'm not depressed any more, I have a regular decent paying job, I'm developing a game on the side, and I'm about to marry my wonderful fiance'.

Sorry for the tl;dr, it ran way longer than I expected. Once I started typing I felt like I needed to get it off my chest.
