On Storms, Microbursts & Circling Vultures
Within the span of 10 minutes, a landscape that had been part of the picture for years was permanently and irreversibly changed. Hundreds of healthy trees capable of enduring and withstanding decades of brutal winds and icy Michigan winter weather had been pushed over as if they were feathers, left on their sides with roots exposed, unable to be righted or restored back to life again. All it took was one seemingly isolated storm. A microburst.
So too with the debate. Regardless of what comes next, the landscape has been irreversibly changed, with millions viewing the wreckage, damage control in full swing, and the vultures circling.

Not the biggest
OK, I'm going to usurp TOP's place and talk about a ruling by the Supremes.
Not much, since I'm not all that qualified, but I think it's that important we give credit where it's due. The ruling about immunity is not the biggest thing to come out today.
Really. It may underscore what common sense would tell most people is the way things ought to be, but that shouldn't have to be done.
Unless the country is dominated by Leftist lunatics.
The biggie IMHO is LOPER BRIGHT ENTERPRISES ET AL. v. RAIMONDO because it takes substantial power away from regulatory bureaucracies and puts it in the hands of the courts, which in turn puts it in the hands of the people. Not always a win for the people, given all the Lefty hacks who wear black dresses, but at least it gives us some redress.
This is the Clarence Thomas effect. It's why he will go down as possibly the most influential Justice of all time, as well as the greatest defender of the Constitution. We've seen some of the Conservatives vote against him and I've disagreed (for all that's worth) when his opinion was based more on tradition or a moral code than anything else, but it doesn't becloud the body of his work as a whole.
Too bad Brandon isn't coherent enough to reflect on the "high tech lynching of uppity blacks". He was one of the lynchers, along with Teddy Kennedy, and now stands, his life of corruption and deviance exposed, in contrast to the sterling reputation of Justice Thomas.

Just had to...
God, I'm having fun these days.
There are all kinds of reports out and about, but I'm sure this takes somebody's cake. The Ubersturmbannfuhrerin has set up a soft coup to become PUS (and the Lefties say we're paranoid) by setting up Brandon's meltdown in the debate so her apparatchiks have infiltrated DC ‘on manouvres’ and meeting with Democratic officials.
Just remember the Hitlerian, um, Hillarian threat.
Frankly, I think it's all stuff and nonsense. Unless Brandon dies or is 25thed out (imagine the filibusters), any attempt to force him out would cost the Demos several swing states. Not that True Gret isn't above it, but a lot of the wheels in the party seem to be prepared to dig in, meaning the ghastliest floor fight since Goldwater in '64.
UPDATE: The Ubersturmbannfuhrerin has announced she won't run against Brandon. I guess Arkancide is such an honored Democrat tradition it lasts even after the Ozarks are irrelevant.

On Dreadful Spectacles, Ruthlessness & Moral Infirmity
From a June 28, 2024 article by Brendan O'Neill, at Spiked, on Why the Democrats lied about Joe Biden’s frailty. The presidential debate has exposed the ruthlessness of the American establishment:
"Few events have shone a light on ‘American decline’ as much as Joe Biden’s sad, impassive performance in last night’s CNN presidential debate. Here was the leader of the free world speaking in faint, broken tones, and struggling to stay focused, and at points seeming to blank out entirely. Before the eyes of the world, it became clear: this man is too old, too frail and too infirm to be at the helm of America.
And yet, Old Joe’s physical infirmity is not the thing that should horrify us. Everyone ages, everyone withers. No, it is the moral infirmity of the Democratic establishment that is truly chilling. It is those who are so bent on power that they’ll force a frail man on to the world stage to do their bidding who deserve our ire. It is the media movers and shakers who said ‘Joe is fine’, and who damned the concerned as ageist cranks, who have behaved atrociously. Behind Biden’s physical decay is the far graver problem of the moral decay of a ruling class that will lie, gaslight and bully just to stay on top.
The debate was a dreadful spectacle. No one can now deny that Biden is not fit for the highest office in the Western world. Even Donald Trump seemed to put a lid on his usual piss-taking, perhaps clocking that Biden’s decline is now too serious for wisecracks. Although at one point, after Biden breathlessly mumbled something about border control, Trump snuck in a jibe: ‘I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows what he said, either.’ The vacant, doleful look on Biden’s face in response to Trump’s swipe was painful to see."

If you missed it
Good for you. The massacre (self-inflicted, I might add) is over.
Theodor Morell could have done a better job. Freezing, mumbling, slurring, changing odd expressions, it was a strange parade of symptoms.
No, it doesn't mean the election is over, but they can't run with Brandon and expect anything other than a wipeout worse then the Rs had back in 1932 (it could happen, anyway). And you can count on this being the only debate.
For all the fixing, for all the doping, it just didn't work. I don't believe in any coalition between the Ozarks and the Os, given Willie's famous, "A few years ago and he would have been getting us coffee", to Teddy Kennedy. They're both run by the Davos crowd, as much as the Ozarks have any influence left to peddle.
If you want to see Brandon's greatest hits of the evening, go to Gateway. It's not a pretty sight and Jill Kermit Wilson is going to feel the scorn heaped on her by the ton. The issue is, again, where do the Demos go? Certanily not Chlamydia. Not King Gavin, as he's called. Mama's governor? Doubtful.
4 months to go and the Trump Train, whether you like it or not, will be blowing its whistle through every town in the country.
UPDATE Brandon and his followers are in full denial of what happened last night, most notably Pelosi Galore. He again gives us his word as a Biden he won't step down (compare that Brandon with this one) * while many Demos say he has to, although the one most logical to replace him, Chlamydia, isn't even being considered, even though she is a "black" woman.
In sum, the Democrats have advanced themselves on so many lies that they don't seem able to break free of them. Be ready for a long and bloody summer.
UPDATE 2 It's looking like there's a formation of blocs beginning inside the Lefty establishment. The Ozarks, both he and she, are on X pledging their undying supprt and one of their apparatchiks has issued a distinctly Hillarian threat. Pelosi Galore and Jim Clyburn have denounced the naysayers. Fake News is, of course, panicking, but no name Democrat except for Bobby Kennedy wants to be the first to publicly say, "No Joe, No Ho".
It may turn out Edmond Burke's glorious insight, All that needs for evil to happen is for good men to do nothing. It may turn out All that needs for good to happen is for evil men to do nothing.
We shall see.
* Taken today, both of them. I'm really starting to wonder if this is another Rudolf Hess switch.

Much like the Gods of the Copybook Headings...
Benjamin Franklin, Master Will, and the Bible, you have to hand it to old Aesop.
When he nailed it, he damned well nailed it to the freakin' wall with tenpenny nails.
In one of the more delicious twists of fate this political year, it's beginning to dawn on the ponderous thinkers of the Left that no matter how good things may look in prospect, one still needs to be careful of that for which you wish, you may get it.
In this case, certain former Presidents (although, given the dragnet thrown wide by the Demos since J6, any official or even citizen) can now be hauled into a kangaroo court and get the Roland Freisler treatment. Which leads us to, in no particular order, Willie Whitewater and his jaunts on the Lolita Express (and accounts payable), both of the Ozarks for what they did to Haiti, the Big Guy and his 10%, as well as, one surmises, Pelosi Galore for her stock deals, Eric Holder for Fast and Furious, and various Democrat governors for their conduct during the lockdown (arresting people for trying to go to church, all manner of miscues regarding kung flu victims in nursing homes, etc).
The list is endless and, as many of the Rs who doublecrossed Trump on J6 have begun to realize, if they can get him, they can get them, too. They finally get the idea the object of all this lawfare is a one party state and not a Uni-Party state.
I've been saying this on various comment boards since The Verdict came down and, as Charlie Brown once observed, "It's thrilling to be recognized in one's own lifetime". What's more satisfying is that, for all their mudslinging, if Trump is re-elected, all will depend on the character of The Outlaw President.
Will he want to play The Ringo Kid or John Reid?
Stay tuned for our next exciting episode.
