It's time to celebrate .....and create!

Overheard at Lem's Levity:
 "Shouting Thomas said...

Have you noticed that Althouse’s “curated, artisanal” comments invariably kiss her ass?

I mean, I understand why she shut comments down. The censors and cancellation mobs were coming for her. She was also obviously fed up with the many personal feuds, and with being told she’s full of shit (and she really is in a lot of ways).

Althouse’s talent was framing an issue for discussion. Her obsession with identify politics is just plain stupid, since it’s based on her lifelong lying that American women are subordinated and persecuted. She never got Trump because she really is a neurasthenic pedant. She never got that he was what was holding the censors at bay. He was too rough and hetero for her fag hag tastes.

Without the comments, her blog is now irrelevant and boring. Rather than turn it into a marathon of ass kissing, she might as well shut it down."

This has all happened before as I am sure if you are reading here you are already aware. The big dust up that brought about the genesis of this blog has been swept under the rug. I believe many of the posts and comments that went into the explosion have been deleted. Even on this blog by Lem. I recently went back in time and noticed a lot of stuff missing. Of course that was then and this is now. We don't delete troublesome posts here anymore. If you say just know it will go on your permeant record.

I hope Shouting Thomas and other refugees who want a place to express themselves will join us here in this experiment of free speech and angry old man get off of my lawn speechifying.

Gentleman .....start your ire.

What about that new joint for the former victims of TOP?

As you might know there was a meltdown at TOP a couple of weeks ago and the comments were shut down. A bunch of those poor saps who still followed that shit show set up a new joint to converse and perverse as it were. I joined up to see what was what and have mentioned our little joint to see if I can get some people to drop by.

I don't know how long they will be in business but I wish them all the success in the world. They have a few solid contributors but the format does not seem to lend itself to long term conversation.

It's all in the game my friend.

The Names were changed to protect the Party.

TOP has a post called "Most Embarrassing Sentence in Major Media, 2013."

Upon reading the story from which the first nominee was pulled ...
But hanging in the air was an electrifying sense of being in the presence of an ascendant politician they believed understood the potential of the new digital world they were shaping.
and commenting about it (my comment is awaiting moderation as I write this) I had an idea.
Change the names of the characters to republican names, and a few other things that had to be changed, and see what happens.
The conference room in Wichita Kansas, headquarters of Koch Industries was packed with the stars of Big Oil & Gas, Top executives of Exxon Mobil, Ford, McDonalds, NASCAR and Coors gathered around a table; the billionaire David H. Koch looked on from a back row. The guest of honor: Scott Walker, the governor of Wisconsin.

The stated purpose of the gathering was to give Mr. Walker, already a gas guzzler fanatic, a seminar on tail-gating technologies. But hanging in the air was an electrifying sense of being in the presence of an ascendant politician they believed understood the potential of the new digital giant screens they were trying to get people away from and back to nature, hunting and fishing.

“He’s part of this tide,” said Linda McMahon, an entrepreneur who was at the meeting, in May 2009. “It feels like he’s one of us.”

Two and a half years later, some of those same Big Oil & Gas executives joined forces again on Mr. Walker's behalf. But this time, their efforts resulted in giving Mr. Walker, until then an admired outsider, the equivalent of full-fledged membership in their elite circle: an Oil field start-up of his own.

Mr. Walker personally has obtained money for the start-up, called WayPipe, from influential investors, including Pete Coors, Chairman of the Molson Coors Brewing Company. A year after its debut, WayPipe has already endured a round of layoffs and had just a minimum of drilling contracts keeping it afloat, according to Compost, an Oil & Gas tracking service. The company says it is still under development.

Yet in a financial disclosure filed last month, Mr. Walker, 45, revealed that his stake in the company was worth $1 million to $5 million. Taken together, his other assets were worth no more than $730,000.
