Time and tide wait for no man......

Did you hear about the drought they are having in Nevada?

It seems that Lake Meade is drying up and low and behold they found a body in a tin drum. It had seventies era clothing and it is a good bet it was Mob related since the boys had a habit of dropping off goodies in the Lake back in the seventies and eighties.

I wonder what other secrets will be uncovered.

Still and all I think it is really weird. I would never would have picked Meade as the dried out one.

The Assassination of Mayor Cermak

This one is for ampersand

There was a lot of controversy over who was the planned victim of the hit. Roosevelt or Cermak. Most reputable sources think Cermak was the target of the Chi town mob. The Untouchables make it seem that FDR was the intended victim but I know who it really was.

When the Mob whacked Reporters....you know the good old days

Manhattan DA’s office probing death of reporter with possible JFK ties

New York Post By Susan Edelman January 29, 2017

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office is looking into the mysterious death 51 years ago of newspaper writer and “What’s My Line?” star Dorothy Kilgallen, who was investigating the JFK assassination, The Post has learned.
The stunning development comes after a new book, “The Reporter who Knew Too Much,” suggests Kilgallen was murdered to shut down her relentless pursuit of a Mafia don linked to JFK and Lee Harvey Oswald.
Joan Vollero, a spokeswoman for DA Cyrus Vance Jr., confirmed that a staffer has read the book, and reviewed a letter from author Mark Shaw citing new leads, medical evidence, and witnesses overlooked when Kilgallen, 52, died suddenly on Nov. 8, 1965 at the peak of her career.
“I’m hopeful DA investigators will probe any records available and interview witnesses still alive today who can shed light on what happened to this remarkable woman,” Shaw told The Post, which featured his findings last month.
“Victims have rights whether their name is Dorothy Kilgallen or Dorothy Doe, and Kilgallen was denied justice in 1965. That’s why I’m fighting for her.”

Of course Hollywood would pick a gay dude to play John Gotti!

Travolta’s Gotti flick strays from reality

By Joe Tacopino  New York Post Page Six August 25, 2016

A new gangland biopic about mob boss John Gotti includes scenes of a triumphant Dapper Don leaving a Brooklyn courthouse after his acquittal — but the real-life drama unfolded a bit differently.
John Travolta, portraying the godfather, will be shown defiantly strutting from the courthouse with his real wife, Kelly Preston, who portrays Gotti’s wife, Victoria.
In fact, after his trial in March 1987, Gotti snuck out a side door at Brooklyn federal court and was whisked away by one of his associates.
“The Life and Death of John Gotti” also features the infamous hit on Gambino crime boss “Big Paul” Castellano at Sparks Steak House in Midtown.
But the mob assassination, immortalized on the cover of The Post, was re-enacted for the film in Cincinnati instead of the gritty streets of Gotham.
The 1985 shooting left Castellano’s lifeless body in the gutter and signaled the rise of the Teflon Don as the most powerful mob boss in the city.
Gotti waited in a nearby car with several associates as Castellano was gunned down.

Rao’s family feud could ruin food empire

  New York Post Page Six

Mama mia! A family feud is threatening to tear apart the Rao food empire.
The majority shareholders in the legendary Italian restaurant Rao’s in Harlem and its Battery Park specialty foods business are trying to push out founding father Vincent Rao’s nephew, Ronald Straci, and his wife, Sharon, both of whom hold a smaller 25 percent stake in the company, according to papers filed Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court.
The couple says in their suit that they helped start the tomato sauce business in 1991 after they were initially approached with the idea by Vincent, his wife, Ann Pellegrino Rao, and another nephew, Frank Pellegrino Sr.
Strasi and several law partners each coughed up about $15,000 to start the Raos Specialty Foods at 17 Battery Place in lower Manhattan, the suit says.

They are going to the Mattresses at Rao's!

New York Post by Beth Landman July 31, 2016
The legendary Italian restaurant Rao’s is known for its warm, clubby feel, but lately there’s a chill in the dining room — and it’s not the air conditioning.
Regulars say that since Frank Pellegrino Sr. filed a lawsuit against his longtime partner Ron Straci on July 15, the tension in the tiny dining room has been palpable.
“Frankie usually sits in the first chair by the bar, and Ron stands on the far wall, but now, when one shows up, the other leaves,” says one regular, who asked to remain anonymous, lest he lose his table at the restaurant.
Says another regular: “The other night, Ron walked in, and Frankie didn’t even look at him. Then Frankie left.’’
And a third adds that he also witnessed the atypical iciness this week.
Both Pellegrino and Straci work on the floor of the restaurant, greeting diners at the bar as they arrive, and they both handle special reservation requests, so the lack of communication can get sticky. It can also be problematic for the extremely loyal and long-term staff, like bartender Nicky the Vest.
