The End Of Wokeness

My point is that if you piss-off Megyn Kelly -- no fan of Trump -- you've lost a lot of women.

This is the End

"Fox News' Megyn Kelly accuses Roger Ailes of sexual harassment"

CNBC:  One of Fox News' top anchors, Megyn Kelly, has also alleged that she was sexually harassed by CEO Roger Ailes, New York Magazine's Daily Intelligencer reports.
Two sources told the publication that Kelly told a team handling an outside investigation into Ailes' behavior that she too was the victim of sexual advances from the Fox News executive about a decade ago. The probe is being handled by New York-based law firm Paul, Weiss, Kelly, on behalf of Fox News' parent company 21st Century Fox.
That's why she had not come forward to defend Ailes, following the Gretchen Carlson charge, like all the other Fox News stars.

I like you, do you like me? Check yes or no

"Just how obsessed isDonald Trump withMegyn Kelly? A lot.
Ever since the August Fox News debate, when Kelly committed the horrible sin of asking him a tough question, Trump has been obsessed with ranting and raving about her every opportunity he gets. He threw yet another fit before this week’s debateand it’s pretty clear that factored into his decision to bravely run away from the whole thing.
And all that doesn’t even factor in his nasty “bimbo” retweets.
Mediaite’s Joe Concha spoke to Entertainment Tonight about Trump’s obsession with Kelly and said, “Donald Trump is starting to act more like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction. At least, from a social media perspective, he’s at stage 5 stalker status at this point with Megyn Kelly.”"

EDIT: aplogies, the previous is an old article from Jan. 29, 2016, followed from this article:

"Donald Trump has been intermittently bashing Fox News anchor Megyn Kellysince last summer. His followers have done the same, tweeting misogynistic messages at her as Trump has continuedto rail against her. Plenty in the industry have spoken out against his Kelly smear campaign, and some have been conspicuously silent.

After the events of this afternoon [March 18, 2016] Fox News is no longer among those being quiet. Today, Trump took to Twitter to continue harassing the lawyer and mother of three, calling her “sick” and demanding a boycott of her extremely popular and well-respected show...
This came only three days after he retweeted fans who were saying disparaging things about Kelly. He called her “Crazy Megyn.”
Read the statement from Fox here:
Donald Trump’s vitriolic attacks against Megyn Kelly and his extreme, sick obsession with her is beneath the dignity of a presidential candidate who wants to occupy the highest office in the land. Megyn is an exemplary journalist and one of the leading anchors in America — we’re extremely proud of her phenomenal work and continue to fully support her throughout every day of Trump’s endless barrage of crude and sexist verbal assaults. As the mother of three young children, with a successful law career and the second highest rated show in cable news, it’s especially deplorable for her to be repeatedly abused just for doing her job.

Jonah Goldberg on Trump

"[O]n Twitter the other day... Donald Trump tweeted: “I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct. Instead I will only call her a lightweight reporter!”

I was mildly surprised by the number of people who thought Trump’s tweet was clever. But I was truly stunned by the number of idiots who thought he wasn’t calling Megyn Kelly a bimbo. His whole shtick is that he’s a warrior against political correctness. He wasn’t invoking political correctness as a legitimate thing, he was sarcastically hiding behind it. People not enthralled with Trump recognize this as smarmy cowardice.

Indeed, they would see it plainly if I were to tweet, “I’m not going to call Donald Trump an adulterous cad. That would be politically incorrect. So I’ll just say he’s a moral lightweight!”

The difference of course is that there’s no evidence that Kelly is a bimbo. There’s ample evidence that Trump cheated on his wife and slept with many married women. What’s the evidence? His own, boastful (!) testimony for starters.

My favorite part is that Trump’s “bimbo” tweet came immediately after one in which he condemned Fox’s response to his debate boycott as a “disgrace.” He added, “Who would ever say something so nasty and dumb?”

The almost Caligulan narcissism on display here is now familiar to everyone. The truly creepy part is how many conservatives overlook it or celebrate it. The slightest insult to the Donald arouses outrage and dismay from his digital court sycophants, but when he behaves like a boorish and childish lout, all praise and honor is due!

...And as someone who sincerely believes William F. Buckley was the most well-mannered man I’ve ever met, I’d hate to see conservatives defenestrate good manners in their indulgence of populist hysteria."

Point/Counterpoint

Trooper York: It was obvious that the FOX debate was weighted to help some candidates and hurt others. Why should a campaign sign on to this. Future candidates will have to take control. They have to force the RNC to set up debates that help get a Republican elected. Not one that tries to destroy them.

bagoh20: FOX, and Kelly in particular, did their job in a way that we all have been begging for, and as I've said repeatedly, vote Republican if you want a real press fitting a great democracy.

This article is an excellent rundown of Kelly taking apart Rubio and Cruz by showing videos of each playing light and loose with the immigration issue. She begins with Rubio's videos, corners him with questions, then asks Bush's opinion on Rubio's behavior:

When Rubio tried to wriggle away, arguing that the “earned citizenship” he opposed in 2010 was different than the “earned citizenship” he supported in 2013, Kelly threw a softball to Bush: “Do you agree Senator Rubio has not reversed himself on his immigration promise?” Bush essentially committed the Republican primary equivalent of a murder-suicide, reminding the audience that he and Rubio both supported versions of amnesty—but that only Rubio lacked the guts to admit it.
“...He cut and run because it wasn’t popular among conservatives, I guess,” Bush said.

Bush acknowledged that his position might not be popular in the primary, but with a touch of charming I’m-not-Trump self-deprecation, he urged the audience to read his book stating his case, Immigration Wars. “You can get it at $2.99 on Amazon,” Bush said. “It’s not a best-seller, I can promise you.” When Rubio pointed out that Bush had changed his position on citizenship, Bush didn’t even deny it.

“So did you,” he said.

Rubio seemed taken aback. “Well, but you changed the—in the book …”

“Yeah,” Bush countered. “So did you, Marco.”

She did exactly the same with Cruz, showing the videos, cornering, but then turning to Rand Paul for his opinion on Cruz's behavior:

“Senator Paul, you know how Washington works,” she said. “Do you buy that?”

Paul [said...] “What is particularly insulting is, he’s the king of saying ‘You’re for amnesty.’ Everyone’s for amnesty except for Ted Cruz. But it’s a falseness, and that’s an authenticity problem … I was for legalization. So was Ted—but now he says he wasn’t. That’s not true.

Mark Levin Rips Megyn Kelly

Thanks to Third Coast for the tip. I haven't heard part 1, but I thought this was so good I had to share it.

I liked the part about Fox News doing Clinton-style opposition research
