And if not for a certain President spending more time going after al Qaeda in the 1990s instead of staining the dresses of interns, we might not have ended up in any of several messes along the way, including Iraq.
Especially special is the last statement by Clinton in which a former president who is getting involved in the current troubles praises another former president for not getting involved in the current troubles.
Considering the state of today's media, it's actually amazing that Hollywood in 1997 made Wag the Dog, starring big-time lefties like Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro, no less.
Okay, now I've looked it up and it was Sudan and an aspirin factory (and also somewhere in Afghanistan). Bubba was at a particularly fragile place in the Lewinsky scandal and needed a distraction and to look presidential and tough, esp in the wake of the embassy bombings. No credible evidence was uncovered that the factory was being used to develop chemical weapons or that it was financed by bin Laden. It might have been. Credible evidence might have existed. Instead of investigating, Bubba launched missiles, eradicating factory and evidence simultaneously in a blaze of dog wagging glory. (The factory owner later sued the US for $50 mill and was awarded $24 mill along with an admission of wrongdoing by the US which you've probably never heard about.)
Count me as one of those who believed that the Iraqis would greet us as liberators. Everyone at some point in time has been wrong about Iraq. I don't think it's possible to be right about Iraq. Those fuckers are incapable of acting in their own rational self interest.....I thought Saddam was a low bar and that whoever came next would be an improvement. My bad. The Iraqis are currently doing a talent search and will award control of the country to the most evil bastard they can find. Obama's got a good eye for talent and will be one of the judges.

Can't that old bastard just die yet?
No, and neither can her husband.

When they were teens, I forbade my kids from butt talking.
Wasn't free Willie chastised for wagging the dog in a ME country? Which one was it?
Somalia? Sudan?

Squirrel!
Intervening superseding cause for what is happening in Iraq right now: Hillary! faithfully executing the Obama Doctrine.

But then the Iraqi's picked up on the phrase when U.S. and Britain bombed for four days.

If Billy Jeff would have captured Bin Laden when he had the opportunity, 3000 dead and two of our great buildings in NY would still be standing.
Thanks Amartel, Chip, and Lydia. I recall at one place, the workers' uniforms had 'baby milk factory' printed in English on the back of their uniforms.
Bill also added that if Hillary had gone down once in a while, that blue dress would have stayed clean.

The soft bigotry of low expectations.
