Who knew?

The Babe in a different uniform. He reported for duty then headed straight to the clap shack.

WKRLEM:John Prine - "Souvenirs" - Live from Sessions at West 54th

WABC TV Eyewitness News (1976) It's time for the news!

When they hired John Johnson it became a colored presentation. Just sayn'

Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore tell it like it is!

I tried out all the time but I never got picked!

Story of my life!

The rest of the Dream team

Left Field: Roy White

He was the best player on those old Yankee teams. A good hitter, baserunner and a spectacular fielder. He was all around one of my favorite players.

Centerfield: Jim Lyttle

He only had a short career with the Yankees but he was one of my favorites because I got his bat on Bat Day. I used it to play softball and I have it to this very day.

Right Field: Ron Woods

I mean just look at the guy! You can tell he was a very smart ball player.

Well at least he dove into the stands to catch the ball.

Just sayn'

Pitcher: Stan Bahnsen

A crafty right hander he was the best pitcher on some very bad teams. I saw him pitch his heart out game after game and lose do the ineptness of the rest of the team

He never gave up. A true Yankee.

I still see them......in my dreams......

Opening day is on March 30th when the Yankees meet the San Fransico Giants. Pretty ironic since the Yankees and the Giants were bitter rivals when they were both in New York City. The Yankees (then known as the Highlanders) were the upstart little team in the Polo Grounds and were scorned by the much more established and storied Giants led by the legendary John McGraw. Now they play in the regular season. Things have sure changed since I was a rabid fan.

When I think back to all the teams and players I rooted for my mind always goes back to the days of my yute. The team I really want to see? Well it is full of people you don't even remember.

First  Base: Frank Tepedino

A Brooklyn boy he came up to bigs after the great old teams were gone. He played for us for a few years and then became a New York City fireman. Served on 911. A hero in several respects.

Second Base: Horace Clarke

The real "Hands of Stone"....fuck Roberto Duran. Perhaps the worst second baseman ever to play for the Yankees. He is a true icon. In fact, these teams are always referred to as the "Horace Clarke Yankees." That's how I feel about them.

They don't make TV stars like this anymore!

How many of them can you name?

On Beginnings, Endings, & Points of Connection

These two hark back to postings and comments previously presented by others here and elsewhere pertaining to the ouroboros, ancient Egyptian texts, and being careful of that for which you wish.

"The ouroboros or uroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. The ouroboros entered Western tradition via ancient Egyptian iconography and the Greek magical tradition. It was adopted as a symbol in Gnosticism and Hermeticism and most notably in alchemy.

One of the earliest known ouroboros motifs is found in the Enigmatic Book of the Netherworld, an ancient Egyptian funerary text in KV62, the tomb of Tutankhamun, in the 14th century BCE. The text concerns the actions of the Ra and his union with Osiris in the underworld. The ouroboros is depicted twice on the figure: holding their tails in their mouths, one encircling the head and upper chest, the other surrounding the feet of a large figure, which may represent the unified Ra-Osiris (Osiris born again as Ra). Both serpents are manifestations of the deity Mehen, who in other funerary texts protects Ra in his underworld journey.

The whole divine figure represents the beginning and the end of time."

Be Careful Of That For Which You Wish...

OK, we all know the Let's Go, Brandon thing started a scant 8 months after the steal. Among college kids.

Demos always figure they have kids that stupid in their hip pocket. News, however, persists there is some kind of revival movement among da yoots.

We have all kinds of news about how all us Right-Wingers (Right here meaning correct) saw through the lies because the CDC is admitting they were lies. Then there's the whole gender thing. Turns out all those impressionable are just as grossed out by it as everybody else. Kids aren't buying it, constant indoctrination notwithstanding.

And this is just the beginning.

Now comes news that iTunes has banned Trump's Justice For All recording because it spent a full week at #1 after being released less than a week earlier. He was followed by Natasha Owens' Trump Won And You Know It, which is number one on the pop charts and number two on iTunes.

Could those kids actually be thinking?

So, where is all this going? Elon Musk thinks this whole arrest business will blow up in the Lefties' faces.

So do I.

Why? Because Elon seems to be thinking the same thing I am. That, once in court, Trump will pull a Hitler on them (someone get Sixty the smelling salts).

Think a century back. Think Germany. Those looney tunes tried to take over Bavaria. 16 killed. Their leader and a couple of others arrested for treason.

But Dolf used the trial as a platform to tell Germany what was wrong and how he would fix it. Turned him from a local looney to a national figure who kept warning people Weimar was too deep in America's pocket. And on 10/25/29, he was able to say, "Toldja".

In one form or another, that's what Musk, I think, expects, and so do I. Trump has used all of Dr Goebbels' little tweaks all along (so has every other politician from 1934 on). Look at a full Hitler speech (giddy-up to whoa, not outtakes) and you'll see the stump speech of every American politician you ever knew of. Think of the way Deep State tried to sell Kung Flu and pressure people into getting the shot. Think of the screaming because we would social distance or wear masks - they did their best to turn us into Jud Suss

The laugh is now they're begging our forgiveness.

Were it not for the little old Internet, we'd all be swinging by the neck from lampposts. Everybody says the drumbeat of social media and Fake News is too great. If that were true, we'd still be on lockdown.

For the record, I think the Davos crowd really does want to starve 7 billion people and herd the rest in SMART (Social Security Schemes, Modern Urban Facilities, Adopting Smart Agricultural Practices Road, Infrastructure, and Transportation Facilities and Tech Savvy) villages just like you saw on The Prisoner so they can be controlled and serve their betters.

Ironic Donald Trump seems to have been chosen to be the latest in the line starting with Moses.
