It's 1972 All Over Again

"Dike Bomber" refers to the alleged bombing of North Vietnam's extensive dike system. This lie was promulgated by the likes of Jane Fonda and later shown to be propaganda. A majority of America women still still love and adore Ms. Fonda. Oh well, they're probably the same ones who despise Trump. It's easy to imagine an updated button reading "Re-Elect the Pussy Grabber???"

The "Dump Nixon" button is far too easy to update if it hasn't been done already.

On the pro-Nixon side, I have but two in my collection:

Both of these could update easily to 2020.

Back in '72 I almost punched my brother when I saw him wearing a Nixon Now button, or was it Four More Years?

Two years ago I almost punched him for being a NeverTrumper. Times change, eh, but the response remains the same.

I was 12 in 1972 and my political opinions didn't matter.

I have a "Nixon Now" button, but I thought it might be from '68. I also have a small lapel-sized "nixon" button that I think could be from the 1960 election. The latter one belonged to my dad.

My dad's family were staunch Wisconsin Republicans -- they were all farm stock homesteaders until my dad's generation.

Nixon was headed to an absolute blowout election and some dunce authorized the Watergate breakin. Surely in June they had polling numbers indicating this.

Love to see the numbers on that one.

The Nixon White House knew nada about it. The Plumbers were a few CIA vets who wanted one last go at the bad guys for old times. The problem came in the cover-up. In a lot of ways, Nixon was railroaded, given what happens not only today, but then as well. The situation brought out his worst character traits.

The media was no different and a lot of Commies saw a chance to get even for the McCarty Era.

Nixon was not the crook the Left made him out to be (they had far worse on their side), but, having lied to the American people, he was bankrupt.

Just check any Althouse post regarding Fonda. They come out of the woodwork in her defense, it’s about looking fit but but being shit,

And, yes, it really does look like '72.

If not '84.

Dick was the first prez to go on a popular tv show. Laugh-In to say, "Sock it to me."

I bet that was at Roger Ailes suggestion.

Remember when Sammy Davis hugged Nixon and Nixon clenched up "accepting" the hug? Talk about a cringeworthy moment.

ric, I remember seeing a thought bubble saying, "What's this glass eyed nigger doing hugging me?"
