Mark Robinson addresses Greensboro City Council on gun show ban

Video seen on Citizen Free Press. The post is titled "Brilliant."

It's a good speech. You might find it interesting for it rhetorical strength.

I like his enthusiasm. It borders on passion. I also like his accent - you see how far off Hollywood actors are when they try to capture an NC accent?

But more to the point, he speaks the truth in a way I never could. I couldn't have gotten two sentences into that speech without dropping some f bombs then turning my oratory into a rant.

Well done, neighbor. I salute you.

That was great. Most people don't realize it, but that man represents the majority of Americans.

I would vote for that guy.

I love that man! Every single word he spoke is the truth.

Great speech. Authentic and true and truly authentic, as opposed to the parrots of the left spewing forth dissembling talking points.

I have a suggestion for gun control advocates. The country is still divided about the need or efficacy of gun control. Instead of banning a commodity like guns, which many people consider useful and worthwhile, they should start with a substance that everyone universally agrees is harmful and toxic. I would recommend heroin. There is not a strong pro-heroin lobby in America. They should call for the banishment and abolition of heroin in America. Once they have worked out the mechanisms of how to do this, and people can observe the efficient way in which government does this, many of the objections to gun control will dissipate. They can then move on to internet pornography. Then, when such obviously harmful substances have been banned, we can move on to more controversial items such as firearms and coal mines.

Except "gun control advocates" aren't really about gun control. Everyone (I hope) agrees that crazy people and criminals should not have guns. So what's the best method to achieve this? Passing laws making it generally more difficult to obtain a gun don't work because the crazies and the criminals are bent on getting that thing that gives them power to carry out their craziness and crime. Laws mean nothing to these people, obviously. Duh. All these laws do is oppress the law abiding. And an all-out gun ban is unrealistic as well because guns will always exist in our society. They will come in from Mexico and otherwise from the outside, just like drugs and other illegal stuff. "Gun control" advocates (1) prop up politicians who want to be seen "doing something" in the wake of a tragedy but don't ultimately want to work too hard doing it, and (2) prop up the fantasy of the pseudo-elites who want to pretend that they're better than the rest of us because they don't have a current need (that they know of) for a gun. And then there's the grools who are expressly on fire to disarm the general population so they're easier to govern. In other words, "gun control" is not about solving the problems besetting the American people but about solving the problems besetting their would-be overlords. "Gun control" is about people control. London has "gun control" and they now have more murders than New York City. It's very stabby and acid attacky over there. And also, if you defend yourself, you might be charged with a crime so that tells you a lot about what the police over there are all about now - and it's not serving and protecting.

At least, not serving the protecting the people.

Yeah, like William - tongue-in-cheek - says, let's do the easy stuff like heroin and porn first and then move on to guns har har har.

The elites disdain guns but hide behind armed bodyguards and live in gated communities patrolled by security guards who are also armed. They can't figure out why everyone doesn't live like that.

Plain spoken and to the point. Calling this pithy would be insulting his eloquence.
