"Some Notre Dame Students 'Feel Unsafe' With Pence as Commencement Speaker"

Via Instapundit:  Students Immane Mondane and Jourdyhn Williams have started a #NotMyCommencementSpeaker campaign against Pence's May 21 address.

“For me personally, [Pence] represents the larger Trump administration,” Mondane told the university's newspaper. “His administration represents something, and for many people on our campus, it makes them feel unsafe to have someone who openly is offensive but also demeaning of their humanity and of their life and of their identity.”

Williams argued that the selection of Pence as the university’s commencement speaker goes against the school’s Catholic mission.

“I feel that is offensive to such a large population here at Notre Dame, and I also believe it goes against certain Catholic Social Teaching, which is something the University likes to broadcast that it stands behind, but it picks and chooses when it wants to stand behind them,” Williams said.

Shorter progressive:

"Like, I'm so offended by your mere presence, that like, I totally think you should be removed, and like, removed from society and stuff."

I'd feel safer with Kim Jong-Un as speaker. He's a really good leader. He cares about his people

Pence needs reparative therapy. Clamp his eyes open!

Catholic universities have changed since I went.

In the old days, the priests' attitude was, "If God wanted you to have an opinion, we'd tell you what it is".

PS None of them look Irish to me.

These little fascists make me feel unsafe.

This unsafeness complaint is so passive-aggressive.
They don't even take on the responsibility of identifying WHY The Presence makes them feel "unsafe." They just default to their wretched feelings without any intellectual examination of why they are feeling those feelings much less whether that particular explanation for the feelings even makes sense.

College: Turning teenagers into helpless squalling babies. For a small fee.

Here's the "explanation" for why Pence makes them feel "unsafe":

“His administration represents something, and for many people on our campus, it makes them feel unsafe to have someone who openly is offensive but also demeaning of their humanity and of their life and of their identity.”

He represents something [unstated what the something is]
It makes them feel unsafe [repeating original thesis]
Someone who openly is offensive [Pence? How so? it's not stated]
but also demeaning of their humanity, life and identity [Again, Pence? How so?]

I stand by my earlier assessment.
