Graham Norton is great. I saw this bit where a guest can hit a lever that throws back the chair that a questioner is sitting on if they believe they're full of it.
For a nasty story that actually did have a funny ending.
The British have less hangups than us and less tolerance for BS also.
That mayor is probably the least-worst of his party's local bunch. I never said the place was perfect.
But it's always great to hear people like ricpic who've never been outside of his hovel opine on how horrible every place else is. His New York values prevent him from even going to the least white part of the whitest borough surrounding him, but here he is, all Captain America and everything.
And not seeing that is part of his own BS. New York is the epicenter of self-delusion.
Thanks for proving my point.
ricpic's plot to take over America starts with pretending he's actually in Connecticut and mixing it up with the other goys.
I just think Graham Norton is very funny for an English poofter. His American guests are always much less inhibited than when they are on American Talk shows. He had one recently with Kevin Costner where he actually seemed to have a personality.
I will never forget the one he had with Amy Winehouse and Charlotte Church and they sang Michael Jackson's "Beat It." Is super craptastic.
My "plot" is going swimmingly thank you very much.
Doesn't sound like it. Sounds like you're more confused about your own identity than any Yiddish-speaking hater of Harlem I've ever heard. Do you have curly sideburns and hang with the local patrols of the Kiryas Joel sort? Or are they not sufficiently "Old Money" for you?
I mean, I realize you have as much angst in you as Woody Allen or any other New York douchebag, combined with Bill the Butcher's nationalistic rage, etc. But at some point, it might be nice to figure out WTF your problem actually is.
My only problem is whether I continue using your present label, Schmendrik, or switch to Our Resident Comrade. It's a tufty but I'm sticking with Schmendrik because it's so YOU!

Thanks for the chuckle!
Sounds like some commentators I know, with no irony!
It's important to say a proper goodbye.
OT: pop quiz - On the most current Drudge page is an image of Benjamin Netanyahu. Name the artist behind him.
(yes - it's an easy one)
There is no artist behind him. There is a work by Moishe Shagal behind him.
It's important to say a proper goodbye.
You are not kidding.
The expressions and body language on the young blonde woman are amazing. She is telling the comedian that he could get lucky.
So now I know Marc anglicized the perfectly good Moishe? Merciless world that has stripped me of all illusion!
I bet this is from the Graham Norton Show on the BBC. The best talk show out there right now.

Schmendrik never fails to overpraise furners and knock America -- it's what comrades do!

Don't make me repost Kumbaya, folks.

Hey don't mock Bill the Butcher dude! I base my world view on him.
Slightly altered of course. I give the Irish a break.
That was a bad-ass character "DDL" played perfectly but don't forget how he wound up in the end.
The Irish are too far-removed from his dear sweet Connecticut blue bloods for mr pic. The man's very discerning, you see.
Comrades get SO touchy about being outed.
Pic was King of the Ghetto in whichever East European shtetl his parents lived in.
But now he lives in his own Pale of Settlement, and boy is everything there dandy!
Now he gets to be King of the Co-op. Or King of the Condo. Something like that.
It's a very diverse roost he rules over there. No one questions his leadership and authority.
It's only on the internet where he runs into problems.

Oh you've got many more problems than that.
"Speak Yiddish, hate the British!" Does that work for you at all the condominium cocktail parties?
What a strange toilet.
With what little there is to go on we can make a remote diagnosis. It takes time for the reservoir to fill.
Nice verbal boxing on this thread. One of the cardinal rules of boxing, "Protect yourself @ all times."
