I puzzled over the name "bisoprolol", looking at its chemical structure for clues. The "bi" or "bis" threw me because it implies that something is twinned. I can't see it. It wasn't until I saw that there were other similar "lol" drugs like metoprolol. I think the "biso" is a contraction of "beta-iso"
The name "fumarate" rhymes with "fumigate" and sounds a bit toxic. The name however derives from a flower called fumitory which has a long medicinal history of usage.
