I mean, you got this whole empire going on, you can't just go off doing something else. It's like a successful furniture business, like American Furniture, eventually the grandkids take over doing the commercials.
Now that I actually read it. At first I thought he was going there specifically to promote anti-gay attitude. That is the way it is presented. But why would he do that when they're already legalized gay marriage in 2010, what would be the point?
He is clearly a dangerous man!

The first couple of paragraphs made me laugh. Marriage is whatever you want it, but they're especially careful to correct the notion that it's not the Church of Iceland that's involved.
There's the one church, you see, now you might have other people who think they're churches and they might be the ones supporting it, but the real definition of Church, in Iceland, is against this "dangerous, professional homophobe."
Dangerous, in Iceland, apparently defined as "releasing statements expressing an opinion and then talking about other stuff."

Franklin Graham spoke at my college when I was a student. He did the wild child route for a bit, then came back to the family business. But not the coattails route.
He started Samaritan's Purse, adding a significant global relief element, then later stepped in to take over his father's role.
He's not just the son, he's an exceedingly engaging preacher and leader in his own right.
“The church has not endorsed Franklin Graham in any way,” Daníelsson said in an email. “The English text on the website of the Festival of Hope is misleading because it speaks about ‘the Icelandic church’ and the ‘Churches of Iceland.’ I assume this refers to the congregations and churches that have accepted the offer to become active participants in the Festival of Hope.”
Hope is so 2000 and eight.
If anything, the piece proves what a cancer Leftism is.

The problems is heat.
The Icelandic Church has good oil heat from the good people of Venezuela Oil heat that Joe Kennedy got them.
The Churches of Iceland, however, are ice floating boxes. They were expecting Franklin Graham to show up with some good oil heat from the good people of Venezuela.
They are disappointed with Franklin that he didn't bring them some good oil heat.

87% of the Christians in Iceland belong to the Church of Iceland. It seems like a worthwhile clarification.
If there was a pro-gay rally in Italy that claimed to be sponsored by "the Church", nobody would fault the Vatican if it pointed out that the church in question wasn't the RCC.
No where did I see that this "Festival" is an anti-gay rally. Graham isn't making trouble, the anti-Christians are making all the noise.
The ignorance expressed about the Grahams is amazing.
Years ago I remember hearing the story about the chief bad guy in Sudan or Darfur or one of those seemingly God forsaken (except for Samaritan's Purse and a couple others) places, whining to Franklin that he wasn't bring any of the Christmas shoeboxes to his area. Graham said (WTTE) "If you'd stop bombing our hospitals, we might think about it."
So yeah. He's eeevil because a certain minority don't like anyone who disagrees with them and they will destroy those people any which way they can. (Kinda like the playbook of a certain group of politicians we are familiar with.)

Part of the problem seems to be the timing:
Anna Pála Sverrisdóttir, chair of Samtökin 78, the Icelandic Queer Organization, expressed her disappointment with the National Church supporting the event, declaring it a strange message to be sending right before the Gay Pride festival.
Plus the fact that the Bishop of Iceland had planned to give a speech at the Graham event. She's now reconsidering that, of course.
Have to give the fainthearted bishop a little credit, though, for saying this in an interview:
[The bishop] reasoned that it’s possible to socialize with groups and individuals even though one might not agree with their opinions about everything; interacting with those of different views only strengthens one’s self-image, she stated.
Yeah, like the folks in Samtökin 78 are going to buy into that.
Funny, how good social-democrats who get bent out shape over a foreign preacher who believes a matter of sexual discipline that Christianity has preached for 2000 years seem to have no problem with the idea of a national church,i.e. an established church, an idea that a good Baptist boy like Graham probably sees as an abomination unto the Lord.
It's amazing how provincial supposedly au-courant folks can be sometimes.
