"This bill destroys the country! [...] It's about PURGING the rolls!"
"It allows ICE to kick tens of MILLIONS of people off the rolls!"The above quote is from Chuck Schumer's public pontifications on SAVE as recorded here at
https://x.com/i/status/2031458602330751470 While some hear him as saying tens of millions, others hear tens of billions. Either way, it brings up the questions of how and why ICE would be involved in kicking tens of millions or billions of people off the rolls???
Jeff Childers, at Coffee & Covid follows up with the following question and conclusion: "He tried to explain that the real problem with requiring citizenship verification is that it would lead to “purging” the voter rolls using “an algorithm put together by ICE, put together by DOGE and Musk.” Where he got that sinister ICE-DOGE-Musk axis is anybody’s guess. Maybe peyote?
I just want to get this all straight, so I’m not being unfair: Democrats insist non-citizen voting is a myth, a feverish, made-up right-wing conspiracy theory, practically nonexistent. But also, if you clean the rolls, ICE would remove so many ineligible voters that it would “literally destroy the country.” Both of those things can’t be true at the same time, Chuck. Pick a lane."

On another note, this observation from Don Surber, brought Levity back to my day:
"ITEM 1: Cuban dictator Díaz-Canel told his nation Friday morning, Yanquis go home!
Just kidding. He said he’ll finally negotiate with Marco Rubio and company.
Díaz-Canel saw what happened to Maduro. Díaz-Canel saw what happened to Khamenei. Díaz-Canel saw what happened to his oil supply. Díaz-Canel said no mas.
You cannot be a feared dictator if you have no gasoline for your armored Mercedes-Benz SUV."
Who was it said, "Kill one; impress a thousand"?
Oh, yes, Sun-Tzu.
The fun part of all this (one of many, akshully) is, as he said what he said , he tried to catch himself after he realized he'd just said the quiet part out loud.
I can't say I blame all the young radicals wanting to get rid of all the old geezers, who were once the young radicals wanting to get rid of all the old geezers 50 years ago.
Back then, the old geezers had accomplished a few things that actually worked like trash picked up, snow plowed, fires put out, hoodla tossed in the clink, etc. And they weren't all that old.
This crowd makes Congress look like the elephants' graveyard.
