There's a Benny Hill documentary on one of the Benny Hill show dvds. The direct implication is that the show was cancelled because of (That's not Funny!) feminists. He was sacked by John Howard Davies, who played Oliver Twist in the 1948 David Lean film. "Please Sir , we wan't no more". Although the English audience numbers were down, Hill had an international audience in the mega millions. They attribute his early death to the cancellation of the show.
