Train plows

Maybe best to turn down the sound.

The mother of all plows.

We went to the model train layout in San Diego's Balboa Park last weekend. Supposed to be the biggest in N America, and it sure looked so, but I don't recall seeing a snowplow. They're still building portions so maybe next year when we return they will have fake snow falling in the mountain passes.

If you are into model railroading, that place is a must-see.

Doppler, FTW.

That steam engine was working. And in the end, even the diesel could not overcome the snow. That's too much snow.

I love the sound of trains. Why is that? Is that a childhood thing stamped in?
I love the sound of an approaching train.

The snow being thrown is kinda terrifying. Would not want to be near that plow-a-lanche.

TRAVEL

The railroad track is miles away,
And the day is loud with voices speaking,
Yet there isn't a train goes by all day
But I hear its whistle shrieking.

All night there isn't a train goes by,
Though the night is still for sleep and dreaming
But I see its cinders red on the sky,
And hear its engine steaming.

My heart is warm with the friends I make,
And better friends I'll not be knowing;
Yet there isn't a train I wouldn't take
No matter where it's going.

Eez Rrrrusssian veedeo but with menny Canadian and American traince. Rrrrussian traince are on the "bread line." Fuck blizzard, food almost gone. Eez snow joke.

On some of the videos the train's hold on the tracks looks very precarious and you can see the engineers rocking back and forth inside the cabin.

Hieroglyphics feel

None of them are right but there's hieroglyphicness to it.

Half of them are real. Including the ones in the bag.

Oh! now I get it. "He probably smells my dog." The thing on the leash being a jackal/man god. The guy with the bag has one of his own.

The whole time I was wondering what kind of Egyptian god hand anything to do with feet.

I learned something today. Insty's promo for Jordan Peterson's book said Peterson describes the Egyptians valued as divinity the trait of careful listening. This is the first time I read anything like that. It makes me want to buy the book just for that bit. Even if it's only one paragraph. And even it's total b.s.

Actual bull poo was valued by ancient Egyptian. <---- joke. Why would they? The whole place flooded once a year leaving the banks and especially the delta a stinking rotting mud-hole for months until it subsided, of vast swarms of insects and vermin where nobody could get themselves clean and everyone's hut was tracked through with mud. Think of it; every year it floods like Houston 2016 coating the whole country in black silt from all along the way between upper
Egypt and a lake beyond Nubia. BLAM! Right there on you. No wonder everyone shaved their heads.

@John: Do you recall seeing the wooden bridge in that scale model? You can check out the real thing on a hike near the US/Mexican border.
