The project, launched by Women Help Women, is a nod to the fact that many US women may already be taking matters into their own hands as abortion options in this country contract. What could go wrong? (Link to more)
Women in the US have been and are using the pills without good guidance,” said Susan Yanow, the US spokeswoman for the group, Women Help Women. “If a woman is anxious and has the pills in her hand, and doesn’t know what to do … we can help her understand what to do. We can help her understand what signs to look for, and what’s going on.”
Several studies have shown that many of these women, particularly those living along the US-Mexico border, are using misoprostol, a miscarriage-causing drug that can be legally purchased over the counter in many Central American pharmacies. In the US, it is illegal to administer the drug outside of certain medical clinics.
Rules for taking misoprostol are easy to find online. What Women Help Women has done differently is connect US women with counselors who can provide step-by-step instructions, and answer questions, in real time.

"New website offers US women help to perform their own abortions"
"Fearful that Donald Trump’s presidency poses a once-in-a-generation threat to US reproductive rights, an international advocacy group this week is unveiling what is sure to be a controversial response: a web portal dedicated to helping US women terminate their own pregnancies with abortion-inducing drugs they have obtained outside of a medical setting."

So I'm reading at AoS about interview practices and how easy it is to sue potential employers for asking certain questions. Its amazing that websites like the one described above do not get sued for providing sketchy medical advice.
Leland, There will be lawsuits. That is as predictable as the sunrise.
Ah, get a second opinion, ladies.
DIY abortion.
Right up there with DIY vasectomy.

We're talking Lefties here.
NO MORE WIRE COATHANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wait a minute.
This isn't the thread on "Feud: Bette Davis vs. Joan Crawford" on "Previously TV."
Nevermind.
I gave Feud a shot. Didn't like it. Wanted to like it, but didn't.
I kind of liked it because I am a big Bob Aldrich fan.
He made a lot of great movies. The Dirty Dozen. Vera Cruz. The Longest Yard. Ulzana's Raid. Attack. And one of my personal favorites Emperor of the North.
The show was very sentimental. The wife liked it and I didn't mind it. So we DVRed it and caught it at our convenience.
Emperor of the North is the type of movie they don't make anymore.
Starring Lee Marvin and Ernest Borgnine. About hobo's hitching rides on trains during the Depression.
One of Ernie's tough guy roles. I always love those movies. Much more then when he plays the wimpy Marty guy.
I hear that next season will be about Prince Charles and Diana.
That should be right up your ally Titus.
You won't even need any lube.
Even though she is a primo commie cunt I have always have a sneaking affection for Susan Sarradon.
It's the Billy Martin infield fly rule.
I have to say that Jessica Lange gave a great performance as Joan Crawford. I didn't know all that much about her other than the fact that I really enjoyed her performance in Johnny Guitar.
She really got into the role and you ended up having a lot of sympathy for her. Much more so than for Bette Davis. She stole the show actually.
Camille Paglia and Andy Cohen were interviewed recently. Both love Crawford and Davis. Camille has taught a class about them. She hated Feud, Cohen loved it. Camille LOVES Cohen's Housewife shows. I thought Camille was going to go down on Cohen!
Ha.
I don't think either one of them would enjoy it.
The only problem with the show was that Sarrandon is too good looking to play Davis. So that didn't ring true.
I thought Stanley Tucci was great as Jack Warner. Spot on based on the many reports of how people felt about him.
When he died just about everybody in Hollywood went to his funeral. When asked why so many people showed up Red Skeleton said: "It only proves what they always say—give the public something they want to see, and they’ll come out for it.”
Maybe Crawford had something feminine about her in her youth but became disturbingly masculine as she aged. She strikes me as an early example of a star being IMPOSED on the mass audience by the powers who ran the studio system. Perhaps Jack Warner found masculine women appealing and forced her on the public, because I can't imagine her appealing to popular taste.
Jim Drury tells an interesting story about the two that shows the whole feminist sisterhood angle was nonsense.
Bette Davis did a guest shot on "The Virginian" (the episode where the famous line is used) and became good friends with Drury. They corresponded for the run of the show until, in the last season, Joan Crawford did a guest shot and Bette somehow held it against Drury and never spoke to him again. That's how much she hated Joan Crawford.
And, from what I've seen about the thing, did they have anything to say about Crawford's rep as "box office poison"? Crawford was washed up because she couldn't draw an audience.

Several of the old stars went the Barbara Stanwyck route, but only Missy seems to have pulled it off.
you are correct Troop. Sarandan was way too good looking to play Davis. Of course, after watching Feud, I watched a bunch of youtube videos of Davis. She was pretty cool and had a great laugh.
