Via Drudge: In the pouring rain, the 23-year-old man pulled a fur-lined hood over his head and stood on the porch of his younger brother’s home in the Douglas Park neighborhood early Sunday, watching police investigate the city’s first homicide of the weekend.
The man said he heard people arguing and throwing bottles at each other about 2:30 a.m. before the shots rang out. He said he went to check on what was happening three doors down but then stopped, retreated back.
“When I noticed the commotion, I headed the other direction,” he said, as he was getting ready to go to work as a truck driver. “There’s a reason for the rain. Only God knew this was going to happen.”
The fatal shooting of Tywan Anderson, 23, in the 1300 block of South Fairfield Avenue, half a block north of Mount Sinai Hospital, marked the only fatality among 28 people who were shot from Saturday to Sunday morning, officials said. Of the people shot, three were teenagers — ages 14, 15 and 17.

Only one dead with 28 shot, better gun control is needed. It costs around $800 to process the dead. Hospitalization for the wounded runs an estimated 50 grand each. Kweeaster weekend will end up costing taxpayers 1.3 million.
The troops are safer in Syria.
This is where are resources should go. Not Syria or North Korea.
Children have a right to sleep in their beds in Chicago without having to worry about getting shot by a stray bullet. Worry about the children in Chicago not Syria.
So send my money to a democrat enclave that is busy destroying itself.
You are wrong again, Troop. Chicagoans have voted for the government they have and they deserve everything they get.
I would like if they were a bit more accurate, but that's just because I don't want those filthy Y*nkees to live long enough to move down here and ruin my state.
Isn't Obama a community organizer? Isn't Chicago Obamas home town?
Syrians reportedly voted for the government they have and they deserve everything they get. I think Troops point is that if we need a military intervention, charity starts at home.
But otherwise, I agree that Chicago is as lost a cause, and fortunately, other than their politicians; they don't seem to need a wall to stay there. Unfortunately, lack of firearm education is preventing them from being efficient in policing themselves.
If we were to use the military for an intervention, then we would have to kill all of those the military deems as the enemy. Acting nice ain't goin' to cut it.
Obama's hometown is wherever the political influence is, or in deference to his wife and kids; whatever tropical local they want to visit for a few weeks: Hawaii, Nassau, an oligarch's private island, etc...
Obama has not been in his "hometown" for more than a few days the past 9 years.
Chicago does not need any more federal money. Rahm Emmanual is building a stadium for a private Catholic College, DePaul, with over 100 milliom dollars in public taxes, 45 milliom is TIF money. Depaul turned down an offer to play rent free at the United Center, another publicly funded boondoggle. Tiny dancer is reportedly in Washington DC trying to wheedle the Congress to up the federal gasoline tax.
Starve the problem to death. One child per one unmarried female. Welfare should kept to the barest of minimums. Food stamps should be for only basic food things only, and not premade food. Have more than one child, you'll receive not more one penny for assistance.
I can see things coming to a head. This problem has become unsustainable. You cannot have 47% of citizens off of the tax rolls, while the remainder foot the bill for these poverty enclaves to exist and government exacerbates the problem by making more tax payer money available to them.
If you want to see what one party rule looks like, then come to california and see it in LA, San Fransisco, Sacramento. This is also unsustainable too. At this point, i wouldn't have a problem if Little Fatboy Kim nuked all three while the state house/senate/and governor were in session. It would be doing this state and the country a huge fucking favor.

They'll just vote Democrat.
They wanted Tippytoes and now they pay for it. Just like CA wanted Moonbeam.
Hell, use the money in a war, you just might get a return on it. Use it on Democrats, forget it.

Last time somebody suggested that, they were called racist and inhuman and mean-spirited and Republican.
Money is not going to fix this problem. Only a change in attitude and not just from the people but from the progressive government and its cronies and voters who see these people as just collateral damage. They need these people to be poor and desperate and pitiful and dead in order to support the ostensible purpose for progressive policies.
"If you want to see what one party rule looks like, then come to california and see it in LA, San Francisco, Sacramento."
The real progressive end game is currently playing out in real time in Venezuela.
And the end result: North Korea.
My solution is to arrest and incarcerate the evil doers in Chicago. That includes criminals, cops and politicians. Have the feds come in and arrest them all.
Spend the money on jails.

I represent that comment. And, I could care less what anyone thinks.
I have the solution but it is not politically feasible in this day and age.
Violence is innate, but there's no innate need to carry a gun. It's learned behavior and can, just as easily, be unlearned. In NYC, there was stop and frisk and prison time for gun possession. People stopped carrying guns, and that behavior remains imbedded, even under DeBlasio.......I wonder how many shootings it will take before someone in Chicago preaches the virtues of stop and frisk. Quite a bit more, I suppose.
