"Felony charges for 2 who secretly filmed Planned Parenthood"

State Attorney General Xavier Becerra announced the charges against David Daleiden of Davis, California, and Sandra Merritt of San Jose. The two operate the Irvine-based Center for Medical Progress.

The allegations say the pair filmed 14 people without permission between October 2013 and July 2015 in Los Angeles, San Francisco and El Dorado counties. One felony count was filed for each person. The 15th was for criminal conspiracy to invade privacy.

Becerra says they used a fictitious bioresearch company to meet with women's health care providers and covertly record them.

Daleiden, in an email to The Associated Press, said the "bogus" charges are coming from "Planned Parenthood's political cronies."

"The public knows the real criminals are Planned Parenthood and their business partners," Daleiden said.

It is sad that California has time to do these prosecution because they decided to ignore immigrants violating laws in their states.

Criminalizing journalism
Protecting cronies
Selective political overcharging
Pretending that statements made in public automatically become "private" if they're recorded
All while unilaterally gathering and dispersing actual private information for profit and political purpose.

Ace makes a good point.

I'm against animal cruelty, but - in progressive world - OK to film chicken kill operation without permission. NOT OK to film illegal baby part sellers at PP without permission.

Health Care Providers.
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
Abortion Industry Baby Parts Secondary Market Whores is more apt.

This is clearly a political witch hunt and I have to ask the question that does the taping of these death merchants secretly somehow change the intent or the literalness of their words?

If these statements had only been collected "incidentally" would that make a difference?
Like, whoops, we just happened to have several recording devices in the area that just happened to record these statements. Gosh darn, it. Incidental collection. Sawwwy.

Sixty Minutes and other news organizations get away with this all the time. There should be outrage by the right over this. This is vile.

The DOJ needs to file a brief in support of these journalists constitutional rights and lend assistance to the defense. There is a war going on and the DOJ needs to get on the offensive, w/ shit on this, sanctuary cities, etc. We need some FUCKING ACTION, not "we will withhold funds..we really will, we really mean it." ACTION!

ND - Indeed. This needs to go all the way up to the top.
What was the point of this election if we are going to continue to be rolled by corrupt morally bankrupt lawless progressives?
