Phil Hughes won’t stop trolling A-Rod on Twitter
New York Post By Mark W. SanchezNovember 20, 2016
These are the perceptive, sharp eyes that the Yankees swooned over when Phil Hughes was maturing through their system. But the right-hander is shutting down Alex Rodriguez these days, not opposing bats.
Hughes, now 30 and happily in Minnesota, has emerged as the unlikely foil for Rodriguez’s cheerful Twitter presence. Rodriguez documents his retirement with PR-friendly photo ops, baby pictures and uplifting, smiling images, all non-objectionable content for his 400,000 followers.
As Big League Stew pointed out, the Twins starter has made a habit of poring over Rodriguez’s pictures to unearth the weird tidbit in an otherwise aggressively plain photo. Friday, the 41-year-old Rodriguez threw up a candid shot of his addressing the North Carolina State baseball team.
The picture appeared on Hughes’ feed. He looked closer. And closer.
Rodriguez has reached the age that he tucks sweatpants into high socks? The father of two played the you’ll-get-it-some-day card.
Hughes, once a big-time prospect for the Yankees who never quite panned out, showed off his detective skills this summer at Rodriguez’s expense, too. A-Rod, posing with his two daughters, tried to give his fans a look at fatherhood.
Hughes got a look at the picture. And looked. And saw … a tire?

Cut and paste from the newspaper, and no pictures. Double yew tee f'n eff?
What you didn't get the photos. It shows up fine in my post.
Thanks for letting me know. I will put in a direct link to the story.
I see the photos' fine.
I can too, sadly, and now I regret that I can see them. Who tucks their sweatpants into their socks?
Is there an age at which men start stuffing their sweatpants (or any pants) into their socks and why? I remember a few times being in my PJs and having to make a quick run to the grocery store and pulling regular pants and a shirt or jacket over my pajamas and stuffing the pajama pants into my socks so I wouldn't look the complete slobbola with the pajamas pants sticking out. But it wasn't an age related thing.
As to the tire in the yard: you can take A-Rod out of the barrio but you can't take the barrio out of A-Rod.
I don't get why tucking sweats in your socks is a thing. It looks weird and I'm half expecting him to smell like mothballs now.
