Trump considers top charter school advocate for cabinet position
New York Post By Daniel Halper and Marisa Schultz November 16, 2016
New York City’s energetic charter school executive, Eva Moskowitz, met Wednesday with Donald Trump, as the president-elect moves to fill high-level government positions that include secretary of education.
Moskowitz is considered one of the contenders to oversee the nation’s schools.
Others include former DC Public Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee, Rep. Luke Messer (R-Indiana) and former Indiana schools chief Tony Bennett.
Trump is a supporter of school choice and has proposed a $20 billion block grant for states to provide more choices to 11 million students living in poverty.
Rudy Giuliani, a senior Trump adviser, predicted over the weekend that the president-elect would be “the best thing that ever happened for school choice and the charter school movement.”

I like giving a nod to Charter Schools. That will drive the teachers unions nuts.
Take the Department of Education out back and shoot it. It serves only to undermine this country.
Well that's the plan. If we abolish it and take say half the money and give it to states in block grants for school vouchers it will be a big win. You can even target it to economically disadvantaged areas. Not just Detroit but West Virgina too!
Give out the vouchers based on economics and not race. There is a reason why De Blasio tried to destroy charter schools and Eva stopped him in his tracks.
Trump is smart and this would be a great pick.
It's not just grades schools, there is also Title IX. I'm still in favor of schools giving out equal "scholarships" to men and women sports, but the rest of it can go. And frankly, I'm not sure how the part I'm good with still holds up with transgender athletes.
My dream headline in the Post:

A Million Black Mommas Go Wild With Joy
Michelle Rhee endured the tortures of the damned in DC.
She would deserve a reward like that
Moskowitz I don't know, but I'll bet Trump does.
As far as I can see, Trump is performing his duties as I hoped he would.
Oops. Carly Fiorina should be Carmen Farina. Luckily I'm not on the Trump transition team or it would've been "You're Fired!" for that goof.
After all the money I lost on Lucent stock under Fiorina's rule, I was actually good with your first comment.
If not her, then Ben Stein. It'd be a hoot watching him call on reporters at press conferences.
Troop, you might want to create a post about this...
School choice is literal poison to teachers associations. If this goes through, to hear their collective shrieking would have been all worth it. They know that they can now be toppled. I hope it happens soon.
