The internet has saved me many thousands of dollars by using it to get answers, and skills, and instruction that I needed to do this, that, or the other. Consider what you get for your money, and if it's out there for free.
I do feel for the college students today. They have been fed a bill of goods. Gone into incredible crushing debt and with no guarantee of those promised jobs.
Instead of facing a life full of promise at the age of 25, they have been forced into a future track or model that they cannot get out of. Instead of being able to explore their options, travel, try out all sorts of jobs and lifestyles, they are harnessed by their degrees and drug down by their inescapable debt. They have spent years getting to the end of their college experience only to find out that it was not just an expensive waste of time.....it was one big fat lie.
The idea of home ownership, mobility, family, children, freedom.....all crushed. It is no wonder that they veer from angry to depressed to nihilism. Many say just chuck it all and go live in a van under a tree somewhere. No future. What's the use. Who do they go to to get their youth back, to get their futures back?
Those who decided to forego the college experience and become carpenters, grease monkeys, plumbers or even brave enough to try and start their own business are far better off.
