snow, March 23, 2016, Denver

The following is a photo essay in muted palette to sooth your nerves and calm your troubled mind. At least cover them in a blanket of detail erasing freezing cold crystal fuzz. The shots are all taken in thirty seconds standing inside with door open to the terrace.

Very Japanese.

Snowfall simplifies --
Patterns near and patterns far
My brain can rest in

Nice photo-capture of the blizzard.

As the wind blows the snow off the trees, it's like being pelted with angry snow balls.

It's Denver. It should all be evaporated by morning.

It takes a while for 18 inches to evaporate. But spring is on the way, regardless of what's dropped, because as Tom Waits attests: You Can Never Hold Back Spring

I found this video three years ago at Sippican Cottage (written by one of the "old Althouse commenters" who apparently left off commenting there and did not return) and I play it when the late Feb and March snows arrive here in north country and spring seems far away.

In addition to the words and music, I'm especially fond of the Easter-like transformation in the last scene.
