WND: Schlafly unloaded on Republicans in Congress for passing the $1.1 trillion omnibus bill last week, a move she called a “betrayal.”
“This is a betrayal of the grassroots and of the Republican Party,” Schlafly said in an exclusive interview with WND. “We thought we were electing a different crowd to stand up for America, and they didn’t. We’re extremely outraged by what Congress has done. Nancy Pelosi couldn’t have engineered it any better. I think the people are going to react by electing Donald Trump.”
Trump put out a statement Friday to ABC News saying, “If anyone needs more evidence of why the American people are suffering at the hands of their own government, look no further than the budget deal announced by Speaker Ryan. In order to avoid a government shutdown, a cowardly threat from an incompetent president, the elected Republicans in Congress threw in the towel and showed absolutely no budget discipline.”
Trump continued, “Congress cannot seem to help itself in bending to every whim of special interests. How can they face their constituents when they continue to burden our children and grandchildren with debts they will never be able to repay? Our government is failing us, so we must do something about it. Who knows how bad things will be when the next administration comes in and has to pick up the pieces?”
Schlafly applauded the GOP front-runner’s fighting spirit.

For many months my progressive and liberal friends have been saying to me “Didja hear what Trump said yesterday? Well ? Didja? Pretty Crazy huh?“ And I have told them that Trump was not conservative and that I as a conservative (with libertarian tendencies) I would not support him. However this quote is 100% correct.
Trump is still a blowhard and provocateur and would be a terrible president, but if the system is so broken that the majority party cannot even slightly slow the growth of government then why not let the whole thing crash and burn with a jackass like Trump.

I with ya Jim, but I'm not really worried about a Trump Presidency crashing the government. I'm more worried about the opposite: that it would lead to more power-grabbing by the Presidency like Obama has demonstrated, and that power-grabbing would include even more runaway spending as he and Congress compete to show everyone how much they can do for us all. Trump has been saying the right stuff about the Omnibus Bill, but we all know Trump will say anything to get that populism animal fired up. Trump could be a government slashing hero, but it's just not what he's been saying for years, so why would he now? He's probably even going to get softer on that stuff in the general, and start talking about how he would spend money better than Hilary. We'll see.

That's the issue. Love him, like him, whatever - it's what Lincoln said of Grant, "I can't spare this man. He fights."
If you'd like Cruz as his Veep, that could be a real win-win - a Congressional liaison and advisor as well as a judicial advisor.

LOL! The key is to get hundreds of thousands of tax revolt people. The govt. would not be able to handle it and then we, the people, will control the purse strings. A few would get prosecuted, but quickly the govt. would realize who is in control and then we start making serious cuts. As cuts are made, then we slowly start paying taxes.
