South Park

This is a clip of the third episode of a new kind of season planning. The manner of production has changed. No longer chasing topical subjects episode by episode the creative team decided they need to change because real life events under discussion move too quickly to continue doing that, now they are planning their topics more broadly in advance.

There is a new school pc principal, a new pc teacher and, this is brilliant, a pc fraternity. So, new important characters all around and missing some favorites through these first episodes.

This clip of the third episode this season is amazing. The town is struggling massively to upgrade its image. The town planners decided to invest in the old torn up section of town, basically Kenny's house, to upgrade and update to attract an urban elite. This is a sales pitch for the new urban housing called SodoSopa for South Downtown South Park, with historic Kenny's house the focus of attention, everything built up surround Kenny's house and garage. You can barely see the house in the glints and glitter. Kenny's family becomes objects of observation without ever being included in the upgrade. None of the new wealth surrounding them touches them. To the new residents Kenny's family are not even real, they're like historical actors.

Kenny's family is not looking into the window at people inside the new restaurant, rather, they're looking outside their own home through two windows into the new imbalanced intrusion.

This is getting a lot of attention. EW writes about South Park a lot. Here is a lengthy history of the show there at EW. Commenters complain of its length.

Here are other articles on EW written about this nineteenth South Park season.

National Review notices the change on South Park  to commentary about PC outrage and social justice warriors

Season nineteen South Park all episodes.

It was distressing trying to watch the episode on the site linked above. Nothing showed except a message saying that an advertisement cannot load. Nothing I tried would get the ad to load so we could get started. I tried several things and failed until finally just waited. I noticed a timer ticking backwards as if there were a chance so waited for it to run out, it did, and the cartoon started. There are several such interruptions with blank timeouts with no advertisement.

I love Fairplay., It's not really a tourist destination, and it should never be one. Ever. It's quiet, old and funky, charming and depressed. A bit tumbleweed and rickety, bucktooth and forgettable. Not by me. I love it so. At the ice cream shop with the green tiled roof - they make the BEST home-made banana cake. The nice man behind the counter gave me the recipe. Said it's from the Fannie Farmer cookbook. (shhhh don't tell anyone)

If they ever turn actual south park into SoDOSOPA, I'm going full wrecking ball.

Crony-progs ruin everything.

You can't say "hard work" anywhere in SoDoSoPa. In order to date, you have to acquire signatures and fill out all sorts of paperwork.

At the corner of Crony and Prog is the Rodham Bureaucracy building. That's where you go to find work. It's not hard, and it's mostly free. Your paycheck is puny but you are never required to think.

As you exit the Rodham Bureaucracy Building, you are required to walk through the "fun camp" exit scanner where you will be x-rayed, finger-printed, eyeball scanned, & required to sign a loyalty pledge. You are guaranteed to never feel pain again.

South Park is the only show that thumbs its nose at PC. Maybe you can think of another one, I can't.

I was driving through FairPlay on the way to Salida and I had one of those Oh My God I can't hold it in another moment moments. I located a hotel on a street paralleling Main Street, ran into the lobby, said "Emergency" to the guy behind the counter and without batting an eye he pointed to an unmarked door and said "GO!" Saved my life.

I welcome you to the IIBC. Our only male member, ricpic. ;-) That's right-- If you drive through the town on the main road, you miss the main street which is over one street to the South. SouthPark.

I think Rescue Me with Dennis Leary does that in an Archie Bunker kind of way.
