"
The Pentagon’s top official overseeing military relations with Russia and Ukraine [Evelyn Farkas] is resigning amid the ongoing debate within the Obama administration over how respond to Russian moves in Ukraine and Syria."
“She has advised three secretaries of defense on Russia policy, providing steady counsel on how the U.S. should respond to Russia's aggressive actions and has been deeply involved in securing $244 million in support for Ukraine,” the official said. “In addition, Evelyn has brought fresh thinking to Southeast Europe policies — supporting Montenegro's interest in joining NATO, expanding defense cooperation with Georgia, and increasing multilateral cooperation with the three Caucasus nations.”
In testimony last year before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Farkas took a hard line on Russia, saying the country’s actions “stand as an affront to the international order that we and our allies have worked to build since the end of the Cold War.”
"Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea, followed by blatant and unconcealed efforts to destabilize eastern and southern Ukraine, signifies a paradigm shift for our relations with Russia,” she said in prepared testimony. “As the crisis deepens, our European allies and partners will look to the United States to demonstrate resolve and to reinforce solidarity across the continent.”
Putin is taking over.

Ya gotta hand it to Hussein, he broke American hegemony. What a guy!
So she's the genius behind Hagel and Carter.
PS We have been through this before, remember the 70s?
We can get through it again.

No, Poot will get in there and alienate all those brown Moslems (read about what Stalin did to Moslems in his fiefdom) real fast.
Give it a couple of years and it'll look like A-stan in the 80s.
Putin basically gave Obama and the world a fucking enema at the UN. All Urkel did was hike up his pants, bent over, and grabbed his ankles. This will not end well for anyone having the new soviet bloc rise again. This is what Obama's cowardice looks like.
Taking over... what, exactly?
Taking over the world, which as everyone knows is America's birthright?
No, taking over a part of Ukraine.
So, make the Europeans deal with it.
This will be a great test for President Trump. As fond as he is of saying that He'll build a wall to keep out the half of the tiny proportion of Mexican migrants that illicitly come here by land instead of by plane, He should even be fonder of saying that He'll get Europe to fight its own battles.
Let's face it. If Prophet Trump can't do it, no one can.
So will He at least declare that He will do that? Because as everyone knows, a proclamation by Prophet Trump is as good as prophecy. It WILL come true. Everything that comes out of his mouth is as good as gold gilding.

Trusting dictator-for-life KGB guy with stabilization will more than likely end badly. *vision* I see ISIS with nasty weapons and Putin counting stacks of cash.
It's nice to say - "let Europe handle it". Sounds good in theory. Especially because they should handle their affairs and security better than they do.
We don't call them surrender monkeys for nothing.
I think it would be good to devise a welfare-to-work program for securing Europe.
For instance, for every genocide or invasion that they don't at least attempt to thwart, we decrease a proportion of our trade or security deals with them.
It's time to incentivize, dammit! For all your comfort with homeless on the streets of America, forgoing benefits, you should be at least as comfortable with a European or Arab feeling that much less militarily secure as a consequence of their inaction.
You are creating a culture of military dependency. And everyone knows that dependency's not good.
I don't think we should withdraw support or leadership or trade with a deadbeat security partner entirely. Just in proportion to the number of refugees or occupied peoples they create.
