For a minute there I thought before correcting myself, "Hey, your own grandparents are anchor babies. Trump would have their U.S. citizenship not recognized."
That's kind of funny.
But no. They were more like grappling hook adults. Both grandparents on one side, and I don't know about the other. The other grandparents spoke German at home, they undoubtedly did the same thing. The English that these grandparents spoke is accented so heavily it is incomprehensible to American children.
The dispute with Ramos about anchor babies being a derogatory term is nonsense, what ridiculous misdirection that doesn't even apply to the Latino situation that parallels my own family's experience. The term applies to coming here during late term pregnancy specifically to drop a baby in an American hospital for the purpose of it being granted automatic citizenship then returning to wherever and with no real intention of pursuing citizenship the regular way by assimilation, no actual acknowledging U.S. laws or submitting to its jurisprudence save for that one clever trick, and to be used however U.S. citizenship can be advantaged in the future in a rapidly changing world. You never know. Latinos don't do much of that. Ramos burst into opposition caucus with his fury over nothing that applies to him nor to his program of destroying America through abuse and neglect and misreading of its constitution and its laws. One last thing, how typically liberal to instruct us which terms are forbidden for us to use. Burst into opposition caucus and attempt to control its language. Language instruction rejected.
Tweets tonight are pointing out comically how Trump is demonstrating how it really is possible to have people escorted outside and then permitted back in the right way politely and with gratitude.

One of the rules Trump is breaking one of the rules we don't like is the PC constraints that favor one side of the political spectrum at the expense of the other.
There is an apparent loophole in immigration law and anchor babies are a way to take advantage of it.
The advantage has become an abuse. There were something like 400,000 AB's in one year.
Close the loopholes.
Immigration law should be a level playing field. It should not favor the tricksters.
The advantage has become an abuse.
Indeed. And political interests are fine with it.
I don't trust Trump(D) and his ego, but he is saying what each and every other spineless GOP nominee should be saying.
I just heard the exchange between Trump and Ramos on Glenn Beck radio.
When Ramos was allowed back in Trump handled the question exactly right.
What country in the world allows people to sneak in have a baby for the citizenship papers?
Crazy.
Did you see Ramos nattering like a Chihuahua? He asks a question, while Trump answers Ramos talks over with another question, a challenge, while Trump answers Ramos talks over with another question, a challenge, and so on. Exactly like Beverly did with Mum so clearly that one day it illuminated the technique to textbook clarity.
I know a few a few people like Ramos. They drove me insane. I hate them so, and i mean it.
I did an impression in Mexico that had the whole room cracking up. They thought I was so fucking funny when the subject of ridicule came in with his entourage they made me do it all over again. And the routine takes a lot of energy. It hurts.
I lay there like a stiff board on the seating cushion arrangement they build into places down there and start shaking violently, it's shocking, the same shaking as a proper seizure, it's exhausting, actually to do a full body shake and keep up the seizing. I grit my teeth and snarl "Shut up! Shut up! Everybody shut up! I'm trying to sleep!" I shake and jitter violently nearly falling off the surface, I fight myself comically while continuing to snarl, "I KNEW I should't have had that 1/2 cup of coffee two days ago! Goddamnit, I told myself not to eat that candy bar three days ago." Shake shake shake "Shut up! Shut up! I'm trying to sleep you noisy bastards." Shake shake shake.
Even the guy being ridiculed with exaggeration of his insane habits cracked up laughing. Bent in half laughing. The whole place was in stitches twice because it's insanely funny and accurate. That's who Ramos is. That's my imitation of Ramos too. They're of a type.
"We cannot take everyone in."
The United States now has a population well north of 300 million. Over 90 million adults either cannot find work or are significantly underemployed. We have a surplus of Intelligence Workers. Why should the country be taking ANYONE in? That is always denigrated as a radical position. But what's radical about thinking of immigration in terms of the welfare of the host country?
All babies are anchors. I have a 4 pound, 5 week old puppy right now, and even that is currently ruining my lifestyle.
Anchor babies!? Another business opportunity for Planned Non-Parenthood!
The thing about coming in legally to the U.S. is that there is a process to determine eligibility albeit low hurdled there is a process. The why I know is because my family and I went through it. We waited two years there while our parents worked here to produce proof or our willingness to be good Americans, pay taxes live by the rules. Then we were allowed in and then only as residents. We became citizens 5 yrs after becoming residents.
Anchor babies I believe throws a wrench into all of that.
How is that fair to the people doing things the right way?
Urban dictionary word of the day?
You guess it. Anchor baby.
By calling attention to it Trump cement the word. Completely baffling the PC press and detractors.
Love'm or hate'm, take the good with the bad.
Interesting point to ponder.
Old Mexico distinguishes between nationality and citizenship, but a law passed about 10 years ago allows US anchor babies Mexican citizenship.
So we can toss 'em all out with a clear conscience.
I think there is a way that anchor babies for immigrants can be a great thing.
You just tie an anchor around their neck and drop them down a well.
That's my immigration plan.
Mr. Trump says it has possibilities. Just sayn'
