Well, according to the chart, engineers lean left by about 75%. However, if you did a break down of the older engineers vs. younger out-of-school-within-5-years engineers, you could see a better breakdown. Also, there are different types of engineering, so that diversified breakdown would be even better to mine for information.
Do people switch to democrat if they become unemployed... most likely.

OK, figure this one out. It was reported that Bruce Jenner was a Republican.
That fact alone destroys the chart.
In looking for some general defining principle here, I see that the right side of the ledger is more composed of occupations with clear objective merit measurements, while the left is more jobs that are subjective in performance. More comfort with bullshit on the left side, where you can tell yourself and your colleagues that you're all doing a great job without having to really prove it. In fact, many of these jobs are openly hostile to objective measurements.
It's all similar to Obama, Hillary, Holder, Gore, unions, bureaucrats, artists, journalists, professors, etc. Jobs that have lots of awards events, and long, wordy, often indecipherable titles.
Now you can be in one of these professions and be a very effective, good, and valuable person, but I'm just looking for a general difference here.
I have been saying for the past 20 years or so one of the biggest determining factors in a person's politics is their occupation. I would love to see the red/blue breakdown of people on the dole. Gotta be 80plus% blue.
Republican values should include respecting individual freedom to pursue happiness at your own expense. I think Jenner is doing that, but I'm not down with celebrating it. He's doing what he wants primarily for himself, now that his family is grown and fully nuts anyway. That's not heroic of him, but it is liberty. Jenner seems to mostly respect Republican values from what I've heard him say. He's just high on narcissism right now. Everyone he knows is addicted too, so that's not surprising.
I went to the website and found no real surprises. Click on the red/blue names. Again, no surprises, Jasmine and Dylan very blue, Duane very red. I have a neighbor named Duane who is more red than anyone who comments here.

Just for example, compare your recent Presidents, Dem.and Repub., and tell me who are the narcissists? Who were the most important people in the world for a few years, and yet still found it not enough for their egos? I predict Obama will be the most disgusting in this regard. In fact, his whole presidency has been a performance art in narcissism. He has a tough act to follow with Slick Willie still tearing up the stupid pussy, Now if you want to know how that appears to the opposite side, Ritmo, just imagine President Trump, and you will get the taste of it. Now imagine he got the Nobel Peace prize before even taking office. Just imagine how proud you would be to have him as your President. Here's the thing about that though, he actually accomplished things besides just being famous. He could look in the mirror and say: "You earned this", and at least have an argument.

I am not and abortion is the least of it. The difference between the diocesan bureaucrats and parish pastors is huge. The former more like DC, the later more like you and me. We like to manage our own, or in their case, their parishes', money. The more successful, the harder the bureaucrats go at them. There in lies the biggest difference. Pope Francis many say idolizing money is a problem, and he's right...if he's talking about the diocesan bureaucrats. I suspect he's kept in the dark, or clueless, whatever.
