“The government of the United States of America is engaged in drone strikes that have killed over 2,400 people in Pakistan and Yemen, many of them civilians,” the resolution stated. “The government oversees, by far, the highest rate of imprisonment in the world, and racial and ethnic minorities are disproportionately targeted by law enforcement agencies, particularly for drug-related offences. 400,000 undocumented immigrants are held in detention centers every year, and millions have been deported since the current administration took office, and the government is directly supporting and propping up numerous dictatorships around the world with weapons sales and foreign aid.”
"The measure cited alleged human rights violations by America such as drone strikes that have killed civilians, and claimed the country’s criminal justice system is racist, among other accusations."
"The “Resolution Toward Socially Responsible Investment at the University of California” passed with an overwhelming majority vote of 11-1-3."

It's about time colleges distributed their endowments to wall street.
Then refuse all aid and government backed loans from that same government, or you are just poseurs.
I think it's cute that they think they matter.
Please leave America if you find things so bad.
U.S Out of North America!
That was a great hippie slogan of the 60s.
Don't let the door hit ya...
Well, hopefully now you will stop getting tax payer money.
Whoever had the silly notion that students, who are only temporarily involved in any college or university, ought to have any sort of official power to do *anything* should probably be dug up and publicly humiliated.
Do your voting with your college choice. If it's well run, go there. If it's not, don't. If it's a famous Catholic university, make plans to provide your own BC pills. You're paying for a service, make sure you get your money's worth. Wasting time with a college that is more interested in pandering to high school graduates with delusions of importance really *ought* to be a choice. That it's the status quo is pathetic.
Dear University of California student government - Why are you still here? Just leave. So simple.
But they never actually do that.
