"Roam" was my favorite song from The B-52's "Cosmic Thing" (1990). Others' mileage may vary on that call. I think I liked it because in early 1990 I was about to leave America for Europe on an extended working vacation.
Lyrics after the jump
I hear a wind
Whistling air
Whispering in my ear
Boy mercury shooting through every degree
Oh girl dancing down those dirty and dusty trails
Take it hip to hip rocking through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss
Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without anything but the love we feel
Skip the air-strip to the sunset
Yeah ride the arrow to the target
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss
Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without anything but the love we feel
Fly the great big sky see the great big sea
Kick through continents bustin' boundaries
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss
Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without wings without wheels
Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without anything but the love we feel
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
When I was a boy scout, one of the old boys had a walkman with early portable speakers, and a taste in music which basically extended to Oingo Boingo and the B-52s and nothing else. Over the course of a week-long trek through Pennsylvania's Black Forest, I got very, very familiar with "Rock Lobster", one might say, to the point of contempt. But it distracted us from how much we stank, I suppose, so that's all to the good. It was definitely a character-building exercise.

I listened to the Cd a ton when it first came out. The whole thing is good from start to finish.
Follow your bliss
You can also go to Rome if you want to.
Roam is their best song.
Rock Lobster is pretty cool too.
Hey chick did you run into Sixty trying to pickup les jeunes filles in the shadow of Notre Dame? Scandalous I calls it.
No, I refuse to edit out my impulse posts.
Working vacation... unaccompanied minors.
Aren't 'unaccompanied minors' another way of saying 'child endangerment' I asked twitter.
Language is meaningless.
Negative recovery, jobless recovery... the list goes on and on.
It's not you Chicke.
I'm dispirited, over the prospects of the nation. Maybe that is also because my own prospects aren't looking so bright either.
The red sox are playing their worst baseball in a long time.

Optional lyrics for Pope Francis:
Rome if you want to, Rome around the world
Rome if you want to, without anything but the love we feel..

Soixante-neuf was teaching lesser jeunes filles les beaux arts...

Heh. I can picture the Pope getting jiggy with it. "Rome if you want to...."
"Roam" is the only song of theirs I like from after their original guitar player died.
