"Mark Cuban strongly rejected suggestions he's a racist, and accused critics of taking his controversial comments on race out of context. He did, however, apologize for one of the examples he used when admitting he has prejudices."
"In an on-stage interview for the GrowCo conference in Nashville, the Dallas Mavericks owner said: "If I see a black kid in a hoodie at night ... on the same side of the street, I'm probably going to walk to the other side of the street." He added that he would also cross the street to avoid "a white guy with a shaved head and lots of tattoos."

Ooh, I spoke the truth, better apologize quick before I'm ruined for life.
The color of Trayvon's hoodie was not black.
MC is confused.
I do tend to agree that quoting Jesse Jackson IS racist.
Despite the name (it's actually a classic Ellis Island case of name deracination) Mark Cuban isn't nearly ethnic enough to be able to get away with making a Jesse Jackson point.
Huh. I didn't know Cuban was a Pittsburgh kid.
I take that back. Trayvon's hoodie was black and he was also wearing a grey sweatshirt.
Didn't Saint Trayvon attack, threaten to kill, and proceed to pound some guy's head into the cement before he was stopped?
OK, maybe not all black kids in Hoodies are dangerous, but he was.
Obviously, whites should just take the chance of being attacked or murdered rather than face the denunciation of being racist.
I may be racist, sexist, or both, but I feel safer around a black kid in a hoodie than a woman in lingerie, although I will not cross the street to avoid contact with her. That's what courage looks like.
IIRC, what he said was that he'd cross away from the black youth in a hoodie and cross *back* again to the black youth in a hoodie if he encountered a white skin-head with tatts on the other side of the street... or something like that.
Stereotypes exist for a reason... around here it's scarred Hispanics with ink around their necks. Or guys with their pants under their butts. Some people (particularly on the bus, I ride the bus a lot) just scream "cartel". Granted, they're on the bus and I worry far more about the crazy people than I *ever* worry about the criminals.
Am I a racist for noticing?
Because I also notice that the guys who (almost certainly are) convicts or gang bangers are often on the bus with a pretty wife and some babies and they probably have a job at auto shop and work very hard in between the criminal stuff.
And I mostly think it's interesting, the sort of things you can learn about on the bus in Albuquerque, such as statute of limitations rules for crime in Alabama.
And I think that the offended flower-pots who get all professionally offended are pretty much compensating for their own secret thoughts and the fact that they have prejudiced expectations, even if they feel highly superior for their public confession of white privilege... the fact is that *normal* people are *not* surprised when the latin looking pizza delivery guy doesn't sound like Cheech Marin.
And *normal* people are not responding to race but are responding, quite rationally, to other non-racial cues such as *prison tatts*, shaved heads, clothing and scowly, slouchy, angry expressions.
I just want to be known as a good shot.
Lem, you can only go to the well so many times on these race posts. You should have kept Crack.
Crack isn't the slightest bit of fun.
He's a psycho who always says the same thing.
Hell, if you like, I can impersonate the dumb SOB...
Hey, you're a racist! Give me your money and your stuff!
Now, are you happy?
Hoodie and tattoo profiling is ridiculous. People wear hoodies all the time. Intriguing, actually because they look like Star Wars characters to me, and my impulse is to stop and suggest better shoes. And girls get tattoos. Doesn't Cuban ever watch the tattoo shows and notice how sweet and vulnerable the people are? People are always interested in discussing their tattoos. They mean something to them. He has it all wrong.
Just last night I was in such a situation. Three guys exiting the liquor store in the darkness and the dead of night in an area that made me vulnerable but one of the three guys goes, "Hey, Dude, howzit going?" As we passed and I go, "Aw'ight."
Yes, Cuban has it all wrong. Hoodies smoodies. Tattooies schmooies. There is nothing amiss. He should be forced to sell his ball club. (kidding)
And, you're here to play the guilt ridden white guy who proves he's better because he hates his own kind, ARM.
You're a one note SOB yourself.
Continuing my Crack impersonation...
I'm a genius so I can't work.
So, give me your money and your stuff!
Ooga Booga!
Is this doing it for you, ARM?
How come there aren't any castrato black guys like ARM apologizing for their race?
What is it about whites that we produce this kind of perverse SOB?
Recessive gene?
Who really thinks Mark Cuban walks the streets at night alone?
And Chip, chicks with tattoos should be avoided. It's a sign of bad decision making.

Very true. The graveyards are full of fast guns.

I thought that was Ritmo.
Or the other guy.
How come there aren't any castrato black guys like ARM apologizing for their race?
He was elected POTUS by people like TheGreatTrollWhoseNameMustNotBeMocked
Now, now Ed, you're straying off the reservation once again. You know where that leads
“All of this has happened before, and it will all happen again.” ― J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan.
I like Cuban.
Self made guy, good NBA owner, does some good work with Shark Tank.
He well tried to have an honest conversation about race.
Nice guy, but naïve.
With some parts of the left, there is no honesty at all on that subject.
Do you tell the Evil Blogger Lady the same thing about her gay posts ARM?
Or is it just stuff that almost everyone here disagrees with you about?
(if that's a real sentence)
I hear the Donald Sterling has turned over ownership of the entire team to his wife. Who is not ready to sell unless she can keep a piece of it. Or she is willing to sue.
So what is the NBA's plan? To take away a team because of what her husband said in a private conversation? Is that how we do things in America?
By the way Magic Johnson was heard form. He said that the Clippers "will not play for her."
What the fuck does that mean? That they have to sell to team. Preferably to a black person? Preferably to Magic Johnson?
What the fuck?
Does Donald Sterling have to sell the team and give over the money for reparations?
I bet that is next on the list.

I suspect I find her gay posts just as tedious as you do.
I was not responding to the rhetorical content of Ed's post. If you can rephrase his post so that it makes a coherent point please do so.
Trooper you seem angrier about this incident than the facts really justify. It is a farce, there's the crazy hooker/girlfriend/assistant, the senile old billionaire and the wife from hell who sues the hooker/girlfriend/assistants to get her money back when the senile old billionaire is finished with them. It's like a subplot in a Zucker brother's movie.
Here's what I don't get about TOP...
So, she likes to eat pussy and watch her man take black dick up his ass...
Why does she need to make a big fucking civil rights campaign about this?
Really, why the fuck does she think anybody cares? Nobody's breaking down her bedroom door and persecuting her.
You keep that shit to yourself and deal with your own guilt, instead of projecting it onto other people.
ST if you want to engage in race wars paranoia you would be a lot better off focusing on China. They actually are a threat to western dominance.
Who said anything about race war?
There are more subtle ways to go about getting the same result.
Use your imagination.
Here's the thing.
It is not paranoia when they take away your property when you say the wrong thing in an illegally taped private conversation.
It is not paranoia when they get you get fired when you donate to a political campaign against a social issue that you don't agree with.
It's not paranoia when they do this to rich and powerful people. What are they going to do to poor schulbs who express a politically incorrect thought.
This new emphasis on "income inequality" and "reparations" is particularly worrisome.
Where do you think that is leading?
I think it is leading to a very bad place.
