Dilbert in real life.

I am so happy being retired. Living in an office or cube is hell on earth.

Good grief, even the lower enlisted ranks in the US Army have better terms in their mess halls.

What kills is they get one free refill on coffees, etc., but not on water. I assume they don't want the Kroger employees to abuse the good natures of the baristas.

I was blessed with a boss who thought herself a successful executive in the style of Ronald Reagan. She had a huge glass container of jelly beans on her desk. The jelly beans were demonstrative of happiness, prosperity, and generosity. The semiotics were ruined by a sign on the jar that cautioned jelly bean eaters to take only one handful.

That's a Kroger sign, I assume for Kroger workers at the in-store Starbucks.

The particular store is ruled by sign nazi.

Don't supermarkets have drinking fountains? In the Employee area? Everyplace I've worked has at least one.

I bring a water bottle to work.

I read a sign like that and I think of the people who were abusing the situation that ruined it for the people who weren't.

Yeah. The gall of an employee who wants too many small cups of water. Shesh.

Bet they've got coin slot locks on their toilet stalls in the employee rest room too.

That store's sign nazi is mostly directed at employees.

another example.

another.

My usual Kroger's sign nazi is mostly public-directed.

Something happens to women when promoted to the bottom level of management, or maybe it just brings out a latent character flaw. But it's all over.

Think of the dixie cup budget!

The Overtime sign is puzzling. "NO OVERTIME!!" - but it seems that only unauthorized OT is verboten.

And how can you get paid if its unauthorized? So why is it "Time Theft".

BTW, two or more !! usually = female.

My work experience is that women are extremely good at following rules and directions.

And making rules. Generally, they are less good at creative thinking, operating in a "rule less" environment, and in knowing when to bend/break the rules for the benefit of all.
