WLEM AM

Where the living is easy.

Ay, that incestuous, that adulterate beast,
With witchcraft of his wit, with traitorous gifts—
O wicked wit and gifts, that have the power
So to seduce!—won to his shameful lust
The will of my most seeming-virtuous queen.
O Hamlet, what a falling off was there!

Brush up

Finally finished watching Upside Down 2012 last night.

Wonderful cinematography/special effects and story plot. Romantic Sci-Fi.

There was one glaring problem with it thought. the lead characters just didn't have any chemistry. Still, I gave it 4 stars out of 5, mostly for the beautiful sets and story idea.

Has anybody seen anything good lately?

I'm pretty much confined to Netflix. Going to the movies is prohibitively expensive for me.

More pictures of distraught Malaysians all over the internet today.

I cant pretend not to look at those while at the same time connecting them to the now removed incident and asking do the camera presence have an impact?

I'm not, well I guess I am, questioning the sincerity of the anguish and pain of not knowing what happened to your relatives and loved ones...

I am so going to ... you know.

Watching Putin, I recalled Bush 41's post Kuwait liberation high approvals.

There is nothing like the high of a successful venture via the barrel of the gun.

I'm just saying.

"Mud"

"Before Sunrise"
"Before Sunset"
"Before Midnight" a trilogy to be watched in that order.

Never trust a glib man who wears shiny zapatas,
He'll empty your wallet and fondle your wife's ta tas.

Time to switch to the decaf, ricpic :)

I've recently given Downton Abbey another look. I rewatched the second season, and am going to try the third. The clothes and decor are just gorgeous.

It's interesting that there are no black and white characters. Well, except for the first Mrs. Bates. The baddies have feelings and soft sides, too. Love O'Brien.

@deborah: Mary is still my favorite of the three sisters in Downton. People love to hate on her, but she really has feelings.

I still can't like the middle sister; all her troubles seem manufactured.

Maggie Smith's scripted quips and brilliant delivery are reason enough to keep watching "Downton Abbey."

Hell, I even named a cocktail after her: link

Or maybe it was Lady Thatcher. I forget now.

Careful not to give spoilers, please. I,m only on the last ep of the second season. But I think Mary is neat. Cool as a cucumber. Is the plain one the middle one? She's become much more likable, and I'm pulling for her and the older man :)

If I recall a spoiler properly, the one who married the ________ will ____ I'm guessing in __________.

Maggie Smith....divine.

Love the cocktail talk. Pasta had some great ones.

I won't give you any spoilers but one of the ladies on Downton Abbey is dating the Crack Emcee.

Some Netflick's recommendations for Lem:

The Fall with Gillian Anderson.
Lillyhammer with Slivio from the Sopranos.
House of Cards with Sean Penn's ex-wife and the gay guy who played Bobby Darin.
Orange is the New Black with Captain Janeway playing a Red Header Russian beyotch.
The Jesse Stone movies starring Mangnum PI.
Old series like Adam-12, Dragnet and Emergency.

There are a million great things to watch on Netflicks.

Is the 1950s era Dragnet on Netflix?

Trooper York said...

Yes. The original without Colonel Potter as the sidekick.

Also some great old timey series like the original Hawaii Five O and Quincy and Kojack and Charlie's Angels.

Not enough Westerns though.

Yeap, they are streaming 4 seasons.
