If that's what people were wearing in the 70's, aren't we supposed to be going around naked?

That was half-naked, where is the progress?

Looks like we wear more clothes now, in the summers.

There are pockets of solidarity I suppose. Like the young people running on Chips post.

@Lem: There was a lot of nudity back then -- even public nudity.

Sixty Grit sent me a photo of him and Carol Herman at Woodstock: link.

We are getting modest traffic from... rcocean.blogspot.com and acrazychicken.blogspot.com

I just want to say thanks... and ask if we can add them to the blog roll?

I haven't been paying attention to that btw. sorry about that.

The link to the picture of me and Carol gettin' after it won't open. Thank goodness that memory is seared into my memory. I still have the hat.

1969, I just entered puberty (haven't left yet).

My first crush post hormones was the daughter in a family our family was friends with. We would all go on fishing outings together with picnic stuff and barbeques and a large transistor radio that used about 10 lbs of D-cell batteries. I remember this song playing and it getting me love stuck for this girl. The family was one of only about 5 Black families in the whole town. I had little baby jungle fever. Nothing ever happened between us, as they later moved away, and I was too shy anyway. Just a crush nobody ever knew about - not even her. Still today, when I hear it, I go back there instantly, barefoot, night-crawlers, cheeseburgers, tall grass, crappies, and sunshine. As unusual as a Black family was in that town, it never really seems to matter with anyone, or in anyway. It almost didn;t exsist as a difference. I don;t know if they saw it that way, but we did. I don't remember it even being mentioned, except as a descriptor as in "you know, that black family that lives over by the pool".
