Few knew about the proposal to eradicate mute swans. Those who did expressed shock and drew an analogy with New York’s immigrant population.NYT / Region - Click read more below for a 'Raising Mute Swans' video
“If they were born here, they should be considered native by now,” said Michael Vangi of Bayside, Queens, whose father was born in Italy and who stopped near the bay for lunch. “They make themselves look huge”
“I knew there would be a lot of passionate defenders of swans, but we can’t base our management policies just on the aesthetics of a bird when it has such negative impacts,” said Bryan Swift, the conservation agency’s statewide waterfowl specialist."

You'd think by now there'd be some chemical that would turn them back into ugly ducklings.
At least thank the stars the State isn't promoting them, like the Feds once did with Kudzu in the 30s..
Just further proof of Einstein's statement: "The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits."
Leftists really are stupid with language. Bedbugs are immigrants too, and born in your bed. Hell a couple generations probably grew up in your ass crack. It's not really the same thing as "immigrants".
That said, I say arm the swans. They don't have trigger fingers, but could make good use of small bombs with their highly skilled rebel air force.
