Snowden, not so squeaky clean?

"In a jaw-dropping revelation on NBC’s Meet the Press, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Michigan) has stated that he believes the fugitive Edward Snowden had assistance from Russian spies when he stole vast amounts of sensitive U.S. security data and fled to Russia.

"Rogers told MTP host David Gregory: “Let me just say this: I believe there’s a reason he [Snowden] ended up in the hands, the loving arms, of an FSB [successor to the KGB] agent in Moscow. I don’t think that’s a coincidence.” Rogers added that some of the methods Snowden used in lifting National Security Agency secrets were “beyond his technical capabilities.”

Sorry. Not trusted. Smear away. We eagerly await the next revelation.

Ditto. All the way around. Everybody has "skin in the game" on this one.

Yup, thanks to Obama and friends, every time anyone in the government opens their yap, I assume they're lying.

So let me see if I got this right. The Russki's helped him steal our secrets. So who is the person at fault?

Snowden?

Or the incompetent fools in the Obama administration?

It is a sad day when people feel that a thug and a murder like Putin is more trustworthy than the President of the United States.

I do know that if Obama says something and Putin says something I kinda have to think that Obama is the one who is lying.

That is not an either or proposition.

I'm a little embarrassed for Rogers that he couldn't come up with a better story than that.

Let's tick off a few things Snowden did that the Russians would never have wanted him to do:

1. Quit the NSA
2. Flee to China (a Russian enemy)
3. Make his actions public
4. Flee to Russia after making his actions public

But hey, I'll cut Rogers some slack. If he makes public the evidence against Snowden, I'll look at it and fairly draw my own conclusions.

When we have more proof, maybe I'll buy it, but, right now, the statists are scared because way too many people see Snowden as a Robin (or Robbing, if you prefer) Hood.

What Pootie Poot says he'll do, he does.

Everything Barry says, well, you know...

There's no "revelation" here, jaw-dropping or not, other than what Rogers "believes."

I've read a lot on this topic and I'm pretty convinced it is a smear tactic. Snowden is a solo type person and why did he go to Hong Kong? There's more to show this is just a propaganda push, but Putin merely saw an opportunity to shove something up Obama's pompous ass, and he took it. Always go w/ the simple explanation unless there is much evidence the more complex, sinister plot has lots of corroboration. I learned that early in my career and it was shown to be wiser and wiser every decade of investigating.

Better to smear a guy like Snowden than to highlight what a fuckup this administration has been. I still think Snowden is a traitor, but I suppose he's sacrificed his soul for the knowledge on what's been happening behind the curtain.
