Agreed. The belief in the existence of elbow grease was mighty odd, as was my mother's claim that she had eyes in the back of her head. I mean, it was plain to see she didn't but she wasn't lying, either. And what was up with that little bird always telling her things? I didn't even know they could talk.
A friend's mother died young. She said her mother kept a baby album before she died, did not get far with it, the usual things, pretty much all she can relate of her own mother is this single entry made in the album.
Deb, my uncle told me that and I really did want a bird. But I quickly realized he meant if I was close enough to do that then I was close enough to grab one and that is when I took up throwing salt shakers at birds and realized my salt shaker aim is not that good.
