Pogo is Dead might not like me using this but since I got here first...

"I was eating some chop suey with a lady in St. Looie
When I suddenly heard a knocking at the door.
And the knocker he said "Honey"
Roll the Rocker out some money
Or your Daddy shoots a baddy to the floor."

One of the things I keep noticing about myself is how much more tolerant of heavy makeup on women I am now than I used to be.

Ah, to be young again. Girls can get away with heavy make-up.

I love this song. The first time I heard it on the radio, I thought it was Adele.

DB, what's that from? Never heard it.

Early morning, April 4. Shot rings out in the Memphis sky. Free at last, they took your life but they could not take your pride.

(Not sure if I'm getting the gist of the question asked in the original post)

What's that from, EMD?

I meant actual firearm mentioned, like, 'he went for his gun, and I pulled mine first.'

Mama put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore
That cold black cloud is comin' down
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door

Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head

Pulled my trigger, now he's dead

The entire Desperado album by the Eagles is about guns and

Certain kind of fool

And of course

Frankie reached down in her pocketbook
and up with a long forty-four

she shot once, twice, three times and
Johnny fell to the hard wood floor

You gotta hear this song if you haven't yet. Gets me in the heart evertime I hear it.

First time was on the radio while I was driving. Pulled the car over, the dj said they were in town that night. I made it there for sure.

Wow, that's a great song. Never heard of the Felice Brothers. I'm going to see if my son has heard it.

Not famous, just direct mention of a firearm.

sakredkow said...
