What is the oblate thingy and can it support weight?

We weight-lifting types recognize that as a cam. It is made of strong alloyed steel and supports the weight that weight-lifters lift.
The five pounds is cash for producing a solution. It's usually expressed ICMFP, it's a joke. But maybe I should pay because this was just getting me out of shopping for groceries. This is so wrong. I'm starving. To death.
Get rid of the top surface and the fish-with-a-bicycle crowd would have a playmate - something worthy of the term "love seat".
I like the level actuated rack and pinion driven cam instead. :D
